Colin turkington.

Give this bloke a few years and he WILL be champion. With a little more experience he will be on his way to the title.

Anyone else agree?

The only thing he lacks at the moment is experience. And that is coming very quickly. The guy's a star already.

as Colin would say

fer shure

and a ruddy nice bloke he is too. He was still on cloud nine after the win so the second just topped that up nicely.

He would be "Over the moon". I'm sure he worked for NASA in his past life.

The only thing he misses is luck and i've let Thruxton 2002 go. He can be good when he wants to be.

What do you mean give him afew years, he is good enough now to make it next year, as long as the car is as good at the begunning of next year as it is now.
He is a real star, and good to see him and others like him coming through the ranks, and making it.

Have to agree Colin is a very talented driver and a great person he always happy to stop for a chat. If he has the right car underneath him next season I don't see why he shouldn't be top 3 if not champion. Lets hope that things work out for him over the winter and he gets a drive that is going to let that happen.

You people are talking as if Colin may have to find another car besides an MG before he can get anywhere. I think if MG remain in the BTCC, then Colin will remain with MG too. I see no reason for the current trio of drivers going elsewhere, continuity is the key to success.

It's a shame Thommo didnt let Turkington through straight away cos im sure that he easily had the pace to catch Muller, then Thommo would have lost less points to Muller than if he had finnished 2nd(ok, only 1 point but still lol)

I think Turkingtonwill 100% be a champion in the future, he's won already and he's 21 in not the fastest car out there.

I think Colin is definitely a future champion. Like Kelvin I hope he stays with MG.

Turkington is definitely looking like a future touring car champion. In the last few races he has definitely hit some form, out performing his more experienced team mates. Before Brands Hatch he had 41 points, in just four rounds he has doubled his points tally. I hope he keeps it up at Oulton Park:)

That recent maiden BTCC win has been the catalyst for some very impressive drives. Good luck to the fellow - he's certainly entertained me recently. Hope he stays with MG - they'd be daft to let him go. Future champion ? Definitely!!

When I heard MG had signed Colin, I was disappointed, as I was convinced they had overlooked Gareth Howell and opted for the second-best driver in that. Although I still have no doubt that Gareth is a fantastic young talent, Colin has really been the big surprise of the season and I have really been left to eat my words- fastest MG driver in each of the last three meetings and a podium at Silverstone. Definitely a champ in the making!

colin is an absolute star! in the last few races he has driven so well and deserves all the podiums that he has been getting. i think that there could be another win for him at oulton next weekend! as james thompson said, he has outshone his team mates this season!
keep it up colin!

Outshining his current team-mates is no mean achievement. If I were Anthony or Warren I'd be concerned. If there were a driver of the year, Yvan Muller having blotted his copy book at Rockingham and Brands, Colin Turkington would be a contender.

What excites fans more than seeing a decent driver on a charge ?

And he is a real good sport, he always seems pretty happy whatever happens, even though he mostly gets the rough end of the stick. I wanna see him at Mondello at his home track, remember last season, I think he was 3rd on the grid but couldnt race cos of food poisoning, and this year, I think he had engine troubles

only one slight niggle - on the box today - Reid or Hughes was told not to race Colin... thought team orders were out for this year?

Mind you they would never have got him... he was flying

Freddie

Don't think they were team orders as such. Just advice that according to the feedback they were getting back at the pits showed Colin to be the fastest at the time.
Not a good idea for them to take each other off!!!!!!
A real possability as they are very competative "racing" drivers.

When your riding on board with Reid in race 2 you can hear him lift off way before the corner. I think CT was gifted that 3rd.

The official line on things from MG X Power

Anthony's fastest lap was set as he caught team-mate Colin who had jumped Reid after a super-slick pit-stop of under five seconds from the West Surrey Racing crew. Seeing the Scot closing in on him Colin opted to let Anthony through to see if he could make any inroads on Muller up ahead. When Anthony's rapid speed didn't stay as the race wore on Colin was right there to take back the final podium place.

Colin's a fantastic young driver and in the past few races he's gifted us with some of the finest overtaking manouvers and race craft witnessed for a long time. His team mates were even reported to want to use his set up following his win ! I hope he stays with MG next season too, he can certainly makes that car move !
