I've just heard that Harry Vaulkhard isn't able to continue to compete in WTCC with Bamboo after one of his personal sponsors withdrew.
Such sad news for Harry that was still within reach of challenging for the Independents Title of WTCC.
Harry's mentioned that he's trying his best to get back out there, but it's tough at the moment.

Its such a shame. We all knew how much he wanted to be out in the WTCC, and he's having a decent season too. I hope he gets another crack at it, but am sure, he'll be back out sometime, maybe not this year, but next year.
Is Daryl continuing?

Yes Darryl is carrying on as this was a personal sponsor of Harry's not the team, so he'll keep the Bamboo flag flying. :)

Surprised no one as mentioned Yvan Muller is doing the French WRC round in a Citreon Xsara WRC. :p

He isnt looking to win, so the Xsara is a good choice of car, gives him a chance of being relatively competitive. For him, a top ten would be like winning :)

Yvan is also achmpion from the Andros Trophy ice racing, so knows how to control a car. I think rallying will be a bit of a doddle for him lol, unlike Raikkonen who's only done single seaters.
I think Yvan can make a big impact in the Rallying world, the Xsara is a proven championship winning rally car, very reliable, and i think he'd actually be disappointed if he doesn't get a top 10 finishint eh French rally

I've just finished reading Andy Priaulx's autobiography. It isn't a spectacular read (£3.99 was worth paying though), but highlights the divide between those guys that are constantly scrambling for funding and those with the dosh.
Overall he comes across as a little miffed at the lack of recognition he gets for winning the world's top Touring Car competition 4 times (the book describes him as "Britain's best kept sporting secret"). He also hints that the BTCC could still be part of his plans, which would be excellent - he mentions that he likes the marketing and thinks it would raise his profile in the UK.

I've read that one too and it was interesting, though I found it bounced around a bit with the timeline, but for the reasons you've stated it's worth a read.

Colin Turkington and WSR are down on the entry list for Macau for eBay Motors/WSR - so hopefully that's a good sign that they have found the budget to do Macau (and presumably Japan), even though nothing official has been announced. This is on the official race site, rather than the WTCC one

If there on the entry list, that means they must have paid the entry fee, which means they must have found the budget to do it.

It is to be confirmed soon that the British Round of the WTCC will be moving to Donington next year, with an option for three years after that if all goes well. More access and more space for hospitality etc are being cited as reasons.
While its a shame its moving away from MSV, who have done a good job with it, good to see another track get a chance and there being more options in UK for international circuits to race at. Think it would work out nicely, race at Donington for four years then have another chance, maybe to the new Snetterton? :)

Can't really see myself travelling all that way to go see WTCC to be perfectly honest,
I only went to the Brands meets as it was nearby.. Maybe if the quality in Racing Improved i would consider it ¬.¬

Far play to Donny, Their first international event since being ressurected. It may not be Formula 1 but atleast it's something.
Somewhat dissapointed as Brands is my local, meaning if i did want to go see WTCC next year than i'll have to make a 320 Mile roundtrip. Which in all honesty i can't see myself doing.
I only really attended WTCC as it was only 20 Miles away.

Good move by Donny and KSO - the organising body of WTCC.
Better track - fans can see more of the circuit.
Bigger paddock - more room for teams to entertain sponsors.
Central - potential for bigger crowds compared to Brands

I think its a great move, always good to have change!
Might be able to go this year which shoukd be good. My only concern is that last time Donington had a mega crowd was World Renault getting out was dreadful. So I hope they can cope with things like that. Having said that getting out at BTCC was well organised - when two lanes had to become one they told each car to let one car out then go which worked well.

WTCC doesn't get anything like the crowd number as the Renault World Series event, probably less than a typical BTCC meeting.

great to see turks and wsr back in the wtcc. i wonder what little surprises the FIA will have to pull out this time if they are too quick for the others. colin is in 10th place in the overall standings after just 3 events just a point behind Gene whos raced all season. i suspect he will be running as wing man for prilaux trying to keep muller et al of his tail and scoring a few more manufacturer points for the germans

much as id love colin to get a 1st he wont be allowed to finish there if prilaux is behind him. bmw will want to max out their points for prilaux and farfus and use turks, engslter and poulson to take as many points away from huff and muller as possible

Watched both races today. A big well done to Turks and Huffy today, shame Priaulx wasn't able to progress with that pole position (his first since 2006) due to the soggy weather...
All in all the races were reasonable in excitement, always good with soggy weather.

really chuffed for Huffy and hoping he will get 3rd in the championship and Yvan wins it.
Quite pleased that the BMWs did not get their own way after the weight break and 6 speed box - in fact I sniggered at Andy's gravel moment.

Was a little gutted for Andy in the 2nd race, was hoping for the final meet at Macau to be a little closer (points wise). You never know though, anything can happen at that track.
Really nice to see Turk get a podium and celebrate with his brother/family.

It wasn't a weight break, they ran at the correct weights based on the spec of the car.

it was bound to happen the wtcc rules have more loop holes than a northsea trawler net, puting the balast on a car spec rather than a driver was bound to lead to this, the same reg backfired when colin's car entered, its weight was based on times done by poulson and some of the other minor indy teams with older 320si

Thats the advantage BMW have for having customers for their cars rather than just running a works team.
Means that BMW could (not saying that did) run different configurations and then use the one that gives them the lightest car come season end?
As a BMW fan, I don't think that there should be any penalty for having rear-wheel drive rather than front. BMW continue with RWD for their road cars since it gives "better dynamics" which means interior space is affected. Should be the same base weight for front and rear wheel drive and then add weight for the sequential gearbox.

Bamboo Engineering are looking to run a pair of 1.6l Turbo powered Cruzes in the WTCC next year, meaning a potential return to the BTCC is off the cards.
