Qualifying is a go.

O'Neill is really fighting for the chance to grab pole this time. I think the old (but doesn't feel so old) Integra feels like its ready to grab pole just one more time. :D

Fantastic grid for the races tomorrow, set up perfectly.

I was watching the final 10 mins or so of the session on the Live timing, and it was epic!!, Great watching the drivers going up down everywhere on the screen.

Great effort from Macdowall to get pole, Lets hope he was more luck off the line then at Snetterton.

Top job from the Civic's, My Dad brought a new Honda Civic Type R for his roadcar last weekend, so was hoping they got pole, but was wasg utted when I told him Shedden got pipped to it by Alex.

Plato will be pleased with Fourth, shouldn't have anything to moan about with him being in front of Both Fords.

Great to see the times all really close as well, I think the races will be superb tomorrow!!!

Bring it on I say!!!

Or even Silverstone, no Forster BMW's to give him a bump start.:)

That still didn't stop him from moaning about them at Snetterton when he roared off into the lead in the 1st two races.

Interesting points, My point about Alex was becuase he was on pole at Snett, and after all that effort to get the pole, terrible luck with him using to much strength on his gear leaver.

haha yeah, Plato probably couldn't live if he didn't have a car to moan about, ah well, I love Plato's Tv interviews moaning about the Fords, they are class TV :D

I know, Alex has been unlucky really not to be able to capitalise on the pace he has shown so far this year. Would be good to see him finishing in front of Plato. It will be interesting to see what Chevy do if Plato can get himself directly behind Alex in the race.

Assuming he doesn't get overtaken by the hondas at the start, because they'll be wanting him well out of the way and he normally gets lost in the pack, he should be able to back up the hondas so Plato can get past....who knows

Lets hope Alex can convert his pole into a win this time. Plato must be getting slow in his old age as I think this is this tge third time this season hes been beaten by Alex in Qualifying.

At least Plato can't moan about the Fords with them safely behind him!

Good result for Alex, but the only just victory would be for Sheddon to walk away with all three.

I don't know of any UK racing series that has ever allowed a lapped car to overtake under safety car. The safety car will allow cars through if it fails to pick up the leader. Smith was behind the leader so that doesn't apply here.

I didn't watch all the coverage so which race and which car?

If the safety car came out in front of a back-marker then they will be allowed through so that the leader is the first car to take the re-start. Smith was behind Shedden when the safety car came out so he will not be allowed to pass both Shedden and the safety car.

I have to say I hope Owy can continue for the rest of the season because in my view he his the best Driver with the best team behind.

In race 3 he made up 6 places with one of the older cars on the grid and most of the time he did it by getting the right line out of the hairpin and powering up the hill.

Just imagine how quick he would be in the latest Civic.

4 Drivers were fined/repremanded/given points on their licence today (report on the homepage).

"Elsewhere, four drivers were punished for on-track incidents at Knockhill, each for driving in a manner incompatible with general safety, departing from the standards of a reasonably competent driver. These included: Race 1: Mat Jackson – fined £250 & 3 penalty points; Race 2: Tom Chilton & Jason Plato – both officially reprimanded & 3 penalty points; Race 3: Jeff Smith – officially reprimanded, fined £250 & 3 penalty points."

New boy or not, Smith drove like an absolute clown today.

Normally I don't feel for Pinkney, he's a bit angry most of the time and not always completely innocent, but today both incidents were completely not his fault, very unfair.

The Recovery Discovery getting stuck was just fantastic. :D

Most of the people on the hairpin also cheered and clapped, though I'm hoping it's cos JP did the passing rather than cos it was a car passing an AON. :p

Great three races though, some fantastic driving throughout the field. Happy with the results for JP and he's still in the lead of the championship, which is fab news.

He also blocked Flash on a flying lap that could have put Shedden on pole, Shedden even said "it's his first time on the car so am not going to berate him, but if he does it again i will"

But it was his qst time in the car, a much bigger car than the Clio, a lower driving position, but he seemed to get tangled with anyone in his path. But on a positive, when he was getting lapped in race 2, he did rather well keeping out of everyones way, especially after the safety car period.

Watched the races back on Sky+ this evening.

First thing I have to say, was devastated by O'Neill's announcement about the rest of the season. I truly truly hope they can get out for the final two meetings, really really wouldn't be the same without him on track. He drove superbly all three races, was gutted he got caught up in the incident in race two, if he didnt, he was looking good for a great result after the reverse grid in race three.

As for the weekend, Honda really were the team on form, the car looked superb on track, well done to Shedden and Neal for a great weekends work. Also have to take my hat off to Plato, as much as I dislike him, he's driving smartly and showing his experience, have to admire his class and skill.

Good to see Aon having to work hard for their results for a change, think the balance was right this time. The only time they had an advantage on the straights was against ballasted cars, Beemers/Integras and co were able to draw alongside on the straight and have a fair fight. Was good to see.

I wont go on for ages about Smith in the Vectra, most people are covering that, just a bit disapointed in some of his driving.

Was impressed by Airwaves, by far and away the best beemer team. I know Collard got caught up in a few incidents, but he didnt look quick. whereas Kane and Jackson were great.

Think the "balancing" has gone too far now as proved by a ballasted Plato being able to out drag an unballasted Ford out of the hairpin. Proves what an advantage having a famous face has when it comes to handicaping your rivals. On this showing the Fords should be given back their old restrictors on the twisty tracks to balance for the heavy engine chewing the tyres.

No they shouldn't. I'm sorry, but I saw Fords right up in the pack all day, overtaking and giving with the best of it.

Yes Plato pulled away once he was in the lead in Race 3, but you have to remember he's been racing - and winninng - at Knockhill since the mid nineties.

Onslow-Cole can still count on his fingers how many times he's been to Knockhill.

So all those driver punishments this weekend but Collard and Jackson got nothing for their Silverstone antics? Or did I miss that.

Good 3 races. Should be more or less sewn up for Plato now. Flash was great to watch around there. Good laugh at the recovery teams as well.

Can't believe Plato whinging at not being able to get past the Focus on a straight just because he's a faster car overall. Well duh. Hardly anyone could get past anybody on the straight. And the corners? It's called defending! Seems to me like Plato's going to keep moaning thinking that it's him getting all the restrictions brought to the Focus. Doesn't seem like the same guy I supported the last couple of years.

The Focuses were mixing it at the front and it looked very very fair out there. Yes Plato outdragged them once. But the Focuses still outdragged other cars on the main straight on a few occasions. It all evened itself out for me.

You're a Ford fan - great - support your guys .... how strange you haven't mentioned either TC or TOC in this Thread and you being a Ford fan through and through, no you're too busy directing derogatory remarks at others !!

We all support our chosen drivers, ok you're not a fan, that's your choice, but this constant winging re Plato (in most of your posts, whether relevant to JP or not) is obsessive.

Yes I am a Plato fan, I thoroughly enjoy watching him race and speak his mind, that's my choice, but as his fan I certainly do not keep making pathetic deflamatory comments against and insult other drivers.

I was lucky enough to be able to afford to go to Knockhill, my local track, and thoroughly enjoyed JP and TOC's fabulous race together, that's great racing - so as been said by 'Simon1220' and 'kezbabybabe' get on and enjoy the racing .... lets enjoy the talent of these guys and not throw insults at them.

On a more serious note, did anyone pick up or hand in a black Sandisk case on a lanyard which holds a number of memory cards? They belong to a photographer friend of mine and he would love to see these again.

All I have done in threads is defend Team Aon and the way TOCA have policed any advantages the team may have had over other cars. I have also pointed out other means by which the Fords may have a legal advantage over other cars which other drivers or forum members choose to ignore. Plato constantly whinges about this and it is tiresome to hear it every race meeting. I certainly don't go insulting other members just because my opinions differ to theirs, which is all you seem to want to resort to.

Less t1t-for-tat arguing with each other. It's unbecoming.
