More good news for 2004: Motorsport News are reporting that Team Dynamics are in the middle of buying up 2 Honda Civic Type-Rs to race next season. Gareth Howell and "an established touring car star" are the planned drivers...

That is fantastic news! 2004 is going to be a great season.

That is good news. Team Dynamics did the best job at Oulton, its just a shame they could not have done the full season, I'm sure that could have won it.
And Gareth Howell, some people have said is not as good a driver as Turkinton, but I beg to differ. they are both two of the best young touring car driver in the BTCC.
Good luck to Team Dynamics in 2004.

That's good news as well, 2004 is looking great.:) An established touring car star? David Leslie or Phil Bennet perhaps?

My guess is Matt Neal.

I can't see that happening. Why would Matt leave the works team to drive a year old car?

I would like to think David Leslie or maybe Tim Harvey would be in the frame.

Well since it's him and his fathers cash, why not join the team. He knows the car, knows how its set up, is used to making changes to the setup and knows how the car feels as such. Having someone who can help with set up straight away is a great benifit.

Sim ~ you beat me to it! I was going to say that Team Dynamics is Matt's family team so it makes sense that he would be part of the team.

my bets - Paul O'Neil.

But great that Gareth is sorted - brilliant!

I think there may be a couple of MG ZS's lying around somewhere. We need more V6 growlling not more Honda whining.

No, this is a balanced view. I have a chip on both shoulders.

The works Honda team are likely to be very very strong next year. I seriously doubt Matt would give up his best opportunity of winning the title in order to help his dad out.

Of course if Honda were to pull (highly unlikely) it would be a very different matter.

Oh by the way, my tip for the drive is David Leslie.

It should be Collard IMO.

Yeah there should technically be about 3 MGs lyin around somewhere, would be great to see more MGs, the best lookin/soundin/coolest car :D

TD did say it would be an "established touring car star"

Now I don't take that as meaning the likes of Paul O'Neill, Rob Collard etc.

Drivers names I would put down would be, David Leslie, Tim Harvey, Matt Neal and maybe Rickard Rydell ;) (well he is looking for a drive somewhere)

It would be great to see Rickard back in the series. But I'm not sure TD could afford him. Also, we must note that Vauxhall may well be looking for a replacement for Muller...

Why would VX be looking for a replacement? Surely Muller will be defending his title next year.
I will admit I am not a Muller fan and have been known to critisise his bullying style especially with the less experienced drivers but I feel the grid would be deminished without him.
If VX are going to try and make a Vectra competative next year he may feel that a car under developement would not give him his best chance of retaining the title. From where he is standing the best he can acheve is to stay the same. Every other option is down.

Oh and Croft Fan.

I agree! When Colin and Gareth were driving Atomic Kitten ZS's I couldn't make up my mind who was better. It would be good to see them in the same team again. Who knows? Maybe MG will run 4 cars next year so they have a better chance at the constructors' title. (And then I woke up.)

it will be great to see TD back on the grid next year, especially with honda civics.

i would like to see david leslie or tim harvey in the second car alongside howell, although it would be a huge shame to lose tim from the commentary box, he has been excellent this year.

i would love to see rickard rydell back in the BTCC but i doubt it will be with a independant team

Yeah, Tim's commentating both on Motors TV and ITV has been excellent as has Ben Edwards of course.
I can't see Rickard Rydell coming back into the BTCC as an Independent, though he has run most of this season in the ETCC as more or less an indie.
