Team Orders

Hi Alan.

1st of all, i hope the 2nd half of the season is as good as the 1st half, it's been a great season so far

Anyway, what is TOCA's/MSA's stance on team orders? are team orders allowed in the BTCC, and if not, how are they controlled or policed by the stewards?

We don't have a specific regulation that doesn't permit 'team orders', as I don't believe there is any point in having a regulation that would be so easily circumvented. Let's face it, drivers could simply swap places by one of them pretending to have a 'temporary problem' such as missing a gear or making a mistake under braking or etc.......

However we do have a regulation which states that, in basic terms, if a team or driver does something that has an adverse or unfair effect on another driver then we will take action - for example if one driver holds-up the rest of the field on a safety-car restart, so that his team-mate can get a better start.
