Rob Austing Racing Audi A4s, 2012

Two Audis for Rockingham

Rob Austin Racing will return to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship grid at Rockingham (22/23 Sept) with both its Audis for Rob Austin and Will Bratt.

The squad missed Knockhill’s recent event but team principal Austin has confirmed his Pershore outfit will be back at Rockingham – and that Bratt, who raced alongside him at Oulton Park and Croft, will also contest Silverstone’s and Brands Hatch’s closing two rounds in October.

At Croft, Austin took his team’s first podium result of 2012 with a third place. He’s now clearly looking forward to Rockingham in just over two weeks. Its unique lay-out clearly is suited to the rear-wheel-driven NGTC-specification A4 as last year Austin achieved a fine second place there.

“Missing Knockhill was painful but we only go racing when the budget enables the team to operate to the highest standards,” Austin told btcc.net. “But we’ve used the time wisely and, believe me, we have made huge performance gains with the cars back at base in the meantime.

“Obviously Rockingham was a great circuit for us last year and I’m confident that Will and I now both have the tools at our disposal to challenge for victories.”
