Formula Ford returns in 2013

Top class single-seater action will be back on the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship bill in 2013 following confirmation that Formula Ford is making a welcome return as part of the hotly-contested support race package.

BTCC Series Director Alan Gow is delighted to announce a three-year agreement that will see the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship's latest EcoBoost cars racing at all ten of next year's meetings with extensive live television coverage on ITV4.

“I am delighted to have Formula Ford back supporting the BTCC,” said Gow. “For many seasons Formula Ford provided some of the best support event racing we have ever seen and I have no doubt that we will see many more of those gloriously competitive races driven by some future F1 stars.

"This is an incredibly positive step for the championship, its teams and our huge audiences and spectators. It’s very much a case of ‘welcome home’ Formula Ford.”

Ford, of course, has long had a strong presence on the BTCC grid. Mat Jackson's victory last weekend at Silverstone was the 234th for cars bearing the famous 'Blue Oval' badge – that's more than 100 victories ahead of Vauxhall, its nearest rival.
