RAR confirms Wix, Bratt
Rob Austin Racing has confirmed Wix Filters as a major sponsor as well as driver Will Bratt for its 2013 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship campaign.
Team principal Austin will be joined for all ten rounds by Oxford's Bratt who contested a half-season in 2012. The Pershore squad will again field its pair of Audi A4s with Austin’s running under the wixracing.co.uk banner after the company – a major player in American NASCAR racing – opted to back him for the full season.
Both Audis will continue to be powered by VW’s TFSI engine but these will be overseen by a different tuner – Field Motorsport which took over their preparation mid-way through last season.
Austin, who will this year feature in Ron Howard's new F1 movie Rush, made the announcement this morning at the Autosport International show at Birmingham’s NEC where he unveiled his Wix-liveried his A4 which boasts a revised colourscheme to that seen in last year's final round at Brands Hatch.
"The partnership with WIX is fantastic for us and will provide the stability we need to be able to concentrate on winning races," enthused Austin. "It also allows us to take big steps forward in the development of the car.
"I have always maintained that the potential is there to win races and this year we will show it. Certainly 2013 promises to be an exciting year. I am really looking forward to the challenge of the BTCC – and also seeing my face on the big screen with the release of Rush!”
