BTCC pulls the crowds
The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship’s star and cars were among the major attractions at the weekend’s Autosport International show.
Thousands of motor sport fans flocked to a heavily Dunlop-branded BTCC stand which was a major highlight of the annual event inside Birmingham’s NEC.
Many took photos of Gordon Shedden’s 2012 title-winning Honda Yuasa Racing Team Civic, Jason Plato’s MG KX Momentum Racing MG6, Rob Austin’s wixracing.co.uk Audi A4, Dave Newsham’s Speedworks Toyota Avensis and Daniel Welch’s Welch Motorsport Proton that were all on display.
Honda pair Shedden and Matt Neal, Plato, Austin and team-mate Will Bratt, Newsham, Welch, Adam Morgan, Lea Wood and new Team HARD. duo Jack Goff and James Cole were also on hand to meet the public and sign autographs.
Indeed it was a golden opportunity for the public to meet the top names of Britain’s premier motor racing championship prior to their panel-scraping 2013 season which will again be shown live on ITV4. It all starts at Brands Hatch on 31 March…
Show director Ian France commented: “We have enjoyed another successful Autosport International and the feedback from the attending public about the BTCC display has been extremely positive. Having so many of the household BTCC names there for fan autograph sessions was a great success.”
