Third HARD. Passat possible
Team HARD. is planning to enter a third NGTC VW Passat CC in 2013’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship after agreeing a part-season deal with American driver Robb Holland.
The Denver racer contested Snetterton and Knockhill’s rounds last year – becoming the first American to compete in the BTCC since Bill Gubelmann in 1975 – he now hopes to return with an expanded programme in 2013.
Holland is expected to contest several rounds this year with team principal Tony Gilham working on plans with another interested driver to ensure the car will be occupied for the duration of the campaign.
Gilham told btcc.net: “We have an agreement with Robb and I am 100 per cent confident we will see him on the BTCC grid this year. He wants to return to Snetterton and Knockhill at an absolute minimum, having gained experience at those circuits last season, but he’s also keen to add a number of other rounds if possible.
“We’re in advanced negotiations with another driver who also wants to contest a part-season, so we’re working on ways to complete the full campaign between the two of them. It will mean Team HARD. potentially running a third NGTC VW Passat, which will be great news. I hope to make an announcement on this over the coming weeks.”
