Rob Houseman joins Laser Tools Racing

Laser Tools Racing has been busy throughout the close-season forging a stronger team to build on recent success. In a bid to push Aiden Moffat nearer to the front of the grid in qualifying and have him visit the podium more frequently next season, Laser Tools Racing has appointed BTCC stalwart Rob Houseman as team manager for 2017. Houseman, who was Team Principal of Houseman Racing, has been associated with the BTCC in many guises for many years.

Rob Houseman says: “Although I took a sabbatical in 2016, I’ve been actively watching and assessing teams’ and drivers’ performances throughout the year. One team in particular that has caught my eye is Laser Tools Racing. The team has progressed tremendously throughout the year and Aiden has matured into a front running driver with impressive potential. When Bob Moffat approached me to discuss my plans for 2017, I was keen to show interest in working with the team in order to help them progress further next season.”

Team Principal of Laser Tools Racing Bob Moffat is also enthusiastic about the 2017 season: “2016 was a good season for us and as a team we performed well, however motorsport is a fast moving, competitive business and none more so than the BTCC. Bringing Rob Houseman in to manage the team for 2017 gives us a fresh set of eyes to look over our operational setup and a considerable knowledge that will hopefully help us find the competitive edge we are looking for. Rob is a real people person and a great communicator and will oversee the race team as well as looking after our partnerships.”

Houseman will work with the team in pre-season testing and throughout the 2017 season.
