Halfords Racing with Cataclean aiming to continue podium success

Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship squad Halfords Racing with Cataclean ventures to its second ‘home’ circuit this weekend (30/31 July) as Knockhill hosts Rounds 16, 17 and 18 of the 2022 campaign.

The Fife circuit has proved a happy hunting ground for Team Dynamics over the years, with seven wins in the last 11 visits, and drivers Gordon Shedden and Dan Rowbottom have high hopes for a strong weekend.

With Shedden securing a victory in the final race at Croft just before the championship’s annual mid-summer break, and Rowbottom having bagged his first rostrum of the campaign earlier in the same day, the squad is feeling confident ahead of the upcoming rounds.

“To go into the summer break with that last win under my belt was a great feeling,” said Shedden. “The car was strong all weekend at Croft, that first race DNF set me back massively, but I got my head down in race two and managed to get the reverse grid for race three and led from start to finish! Obviously, I love racing at Knockhill, with the local support being so close to the track it gives you a massive lift and that is worth a tenth of a second a lap on its own!”

“Croft was good for me,” added Rowbottom. “Coming away with a third and fifth was fantastic for my points, it was just frustrating to have a puncture on the penultimate lap of race three! We now head off to Knockhill, a track I really like to drive. There is little margin for error, and you can really sense the atmosphere from the crowd, so I’ll be giving it my all to climb up those standings.”

The BTCC live zone will be providing live timings and circuit commentary throughout the weekend, while itv.com/btcc hosts Saturday’s qualifying session from 1525. Sunday kicks off on ITV between 1200-1500 before the action switches to ITV4 for the final BTCC race of the day until 1800.
