Stepping into the Driver Spotlight next is your 2022 Jack Sears Trophy winner, Bobby Thompson!

Thompson returned to the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship in 2022 after a year away from Britain’s premier motorsport series, joining Autobrite Direct with JourneyHero’s line-up.

Quickly showing his confidence in the Team HARD. Racing-run Cupra Leon, Thompson bagged a hat-trick of points finishes during Donington Park’s opener, before securing a maiden podium during his local event at Brands Hatch.

A consistent campaign would follow, with the 26-year-old regularly taking the chequered flag in the points-paying positions, while he also showed strength in the Jack Sear Trophy battle throughout 2022.

Thompson and main rival George Gamble both fought fiercely in the ultra-competitive category, but with a stellar 12 JST wins and 14 further rostrums Thompson couldn’t be denied and took the title with an unassailable lead despite two rounds still remaining.
