Substituting for Jack Butel during Croft’s Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship weekend, James Gornall got behind the wheel of the Hyundai i30N for Rounds 13, 14 and 15 of the campaign.

Having made his BTCC debut in 2020, Gornall returned for a one-off outing with Suffolk-based outfit Bristol Street Motors with EXCELR8 TradePriceCars.com at the North Yorkshire venue.

Starting the weekend with 15th in qualifying, the 38-year-old improved to 14th for the opening contest, with his result marking the first time every one of the squad’s quartet of drivers has finished in the top 14.

Having been forced to retire from race two, Gornall would start from the back of the pack for the final encounter, but made up an impressive ten spots to take the chequered flag in 17th.
