BTCC 2023 SUPPORT SERIES ROUND-UP

A flurry of news surrounded the 2022 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season finale at Brands Hatch which began to paint a picture of how the TOCA Support Package would be made up in 2023, and we’ve collated all the key information into one place so you can remind yourself which championships will be running alongside the BTCC this year.

Here’s a run-through of each championship on the bill…

Porsche Carrera Cup GB

A staple on the support roster since its inception in 2003, the Porsche Carrera Cup (PCCGB) celebrates its 20th anniversary with the BTCC in 2023, with a new three-year deal and a further one-year option seeing the PCCGB remaining with Britain’s premier motorsport series until at least 2026.

This year, we’ll see the PCCGB wow fans at eight BTCC events, kicking off the campaign at Donington Park’s season opener on 22/23 April.

Porsche Sprint Challenge GB

The Porsche Sprint Challenge GB will enjoy an increased presence on the TOCA package in 2023, as it enters its fourth season.

The single-marque GT racing championship will enjoy a slot on the support bill for at least the next three years and will feature at six race weekends alongside Britain’s premier motorsport series in 2023.

The MINI CHALLENGE – JCW

Having joined the BTCC’s support line-up full-time back in 2020, and with a five-year contract extension announced back in 2021, the MINI CHALLENGE has proved a popular addition to BTCC race weekends.

The highly competitive one-make series’ headline JCW class is set to star at seven BTCC events during the 2023 campaign.

The MINI CHALLENGE Trophy

The MINI CHALLENGE Trophy, which made highly-successful guest appearances on the BTCC calendar in both 2021 and 2022, is also set to thrill in 2023, joining the TOCA paddock at Thruxton (03/04 June), Croft (29/30 July) and Donington Park GP (26/27 August).

The F4 British Championship certified by FIA

A regular on the support roster, the F4 British Championship certified by FIA will feature at nine BTCC events throughout the 2023 campaign, wowing fans both trackside and at home via ITV’s extensive television coverage.

Legends Cars Championship

In November, TOCA confirmed that the Legends Cars Championship would appear as part of the support package at Brands Hatch Indy (06/07 May), Croft (29/30 July) and Knockhill (12/13 August).

Hagerty Radical Cup UK

One-make championship, the Hagerty Radical Cup is set to join the BTCC for two events during the 2023 campaign, making appearances at Snetterton and Oulton Park on 20/21 May and 17/18 June respectively.

Mini 7 Racing Club

Thruxton’s event (03/04 June) will see the Mini 7 Racing Club feature on the support bill, with the classic minis having proved popular with the BTCC fanbase during previous on-off outings in recent years.

Caterham Seven Championship UK

The Caterham Seven Championship UK (CSCUK) is set to debut on the TOCA package in 2023, as the manufacturer celebrates its 50th birthday, with its Championship finale taking place at Silverstone on 23/24 September.
