BTCC on TV: Silverstone

This weekend (23/24 September), the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship will be heading to its penultimate event of the 2023 season, hosted on the Silverstone National circuit.

With the championship battles reaching their climax, we’ve collated the key times to catch all the action from Rounds 25, 26 and 27, as well as ITV1 and ITV4’s highlights shows.

Just three weeks ago (26/27 August), the BTCC returned to the Donington Park GP layout for the first time since 2002, where the country’s best tin-top drivers produced a trio of close-fought races.

NAPA Racing UK’s Ash Sutton extended his lead in the Drivers’ Championship by securing pole in qualifying and then claiming victory in the opening contest. He is now 42 points clear of title rival Tom Ingram (BRISTOL STREET MOTORS with EXCELR8) who, after close battles with Sutton, triumphed in the second bout.

Jake Hill (Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport) sits just 20 points behind Ingram, after also bringing home a healthy haul of points and two podiums. While, record-equalling four-time champion Colin Turkington (Team BMW) arguably rounds out the title fight in fourth – although a monumental challenge lies ahead for the experienced Northern Irishman.

Josh Cook (One Motorsport with Starline Racing) and the team still hold sway for the Independents’ honours, with Cook being a commanding 92 points clear of closest rival Árón Taylor-Smith (CarStore Power Maxed Racing). Behind the top two it is a very close competition with only six points separating places three to six.

Andrew Watson and Mikey Doble (CarStore Power Maxed Racing) hold the top two spots in the Jack Sears Trophy. Although, only 30 points separate the top four, so NAPA Racing UK’s Sam Osborne and Dexter Patterson (Re.Beverages and Bartercard with Team HARD) will be looking to earn some crucial points.
