Local favourite Collard predicts BTCC blockbuster at 'old-school' Thruxton

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship returns to Thruxton Circuit this weekend (17/18 August) for its second high-speed visit of 2019, and local star Rob Collard has his sights set on podium celebrations at what he predicts to be another BTCC blockbuster show.

Collard might be one of the BTCC’s elder statesmen at 50 now, but the Hampshireman shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. That much was clear from his fourth-place finish amongst the 30 high-calibre contenders – some of the fastest drivers in the country – at Snetterton two weeks ago.

Indeed, Collard has 15 race wins to his name in the UK’s premier motorsport series – one of which came at Thruxton two years ago – and he sped to a top ten double on home soil earlier this season. Buoyed by his strong form last time out behind the wheel of his Sterling Insurance with Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall Astra, the Eversley man is aiming to keep the ball rolling in front of family and friends this weekend.

“Thruxton is just a great circuit – one at which practically every driver looks forward to competing – and it’s fantastic that we have the opportunity to race there twice this year,” he enthused. “It’s probably actually the track I’ve driven the least in the UK due to limited testing opportunities, which makes it even more of a pleasure when we do get to drive there.

“It’s an undiluted challenge full of old-school charm – a really fast, flowing circuit that truly stretches drivers’ commitment and bravery to the limit, which ultimately is why we all do this. You also need to use your head as much as your right foot at Thruxton; its unique nature means that if you push too hard, too soon you will destroy your tyres in the first few laps – tyre preservation is equally as important as out-and-out speed. As we’ve seen in previous years at Thruxton, it really is never over until it’s over.

“It’s great having the local support behind me for the weekend, and Thruxton always generates exciting racing, with plenty of action at the Complex and Chicane in particular and fantastic viewing from the banking and on the big screens.

“We’ve struggled a bit for consistency this season and circumstances have conspired against us on occasion, but Snetterton offered more of a reflection of our true pace so hopefully we can keep that momentum going and score some good points. We were fast at Thruxton earlier in the year, and obviously it would be brilliant to reach the podium again on home soil.”

Alongside the headline-grabbing BTCC, a jam-packed schedule of high-octane support series – comprising the F4 British Championship, Ginetta Junior Championship, Renault UK Clio Cup, Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the latter appearing at Thruxton for the first time in five years – will ensure the action remains red-hot from lights-out to chequered flag.

Off-track, there will also be a variety of activities around the venue including skid pan rides for all ages, an extensive display of Thruxton’s driving experience supercars and racing cars and a comprehensive trade village to explore. There will additionally be evening entertainment in the Thruxton Centre on both Friday and Saturday.

Tickets for the BTCC’s visit on 17/18 August can be purchased on the gate, starting at £17 for Saturday (qualifying) and £34 for Sunday (race day). Children aged 13-15 get in for £5 on Saturday and £10 on Sunday; accompanied children aged 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.

Win a road-going replica of Cobra Sport AmD with AutoAid/RCIB Insurance Racing’s BTCC challenger

For the second successive season, Cobra Sport AmD with AutoAid/RCIB Insurance Racing can today announce the launch of a money can’t buy competition to win a road-going version of the car being used in this season’s Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

Following on from a highly successful competition last year that saw one lucky winner walk away with an MG6 GT, the team will give away a road-going replica of the Honda Civic being raced in 2019 by Rory Butcher and Sam Tordoff.

The prize will be provided by joint title sponsors AutoAid and RCIB Insurance, whilst West Thurrock-based AmD Tuning will add a range of special upgrades before the car goes to its new home, including a new set of tyres provided by long-time BTCC supplier Dunlop.

How to enter:

A number of competitions will take place through AutoAid and RCIB Insurance’s social media channels from the next round of the season at Thruxton, with the respective winners all securing a pair of VIP Hospitality tickets to join the team at Brands Hatch for the final race of the season.

Over the course of the Brands Hatch weekend, a special Scalextric shootout will take place at the circuit to determine which of the competition winners secures the ultimate prize and wins the car.

To be in with a chance of winning the Honda Civic, potential entrants will need to follow both AutoAid and RCIB Insurance Racing on Facebook and Twitter using the accounts below, where the various qualifying competitions will take place.

Shaun Hollamby, Cobra Sport AmD with AutoAid/RCIB Insurance Racing Team Principal, said:
“When the idea was created to give away the MG last year, the reaction from race fans was fantastic and it proved to be a hugely successful campaign for everyone involved.

“When AutoAid and RCIB Insurance suggested running a similar competition this season as part of our on-going partnership, it really was a no-brainer and we’re excited to now launch the 2019 version to win a road-going version of the Honda Civic.

“The Civic is a fantastic base car to work with, and it will undergo a number of upgrades at our workshop before going to its new owner.

“We’re sure that fans will embrace the competition in the same way they did twelve months ago, and we look forward to meeting the various winners when we get to Brands Hatch to see who gets to drive away with the main prize.”

Mike Joseph, AutoAid & RCIB Insurance Managing Director, said:

“We are very excited to be able to launch the 2019 version of the competition we ran with such success twelve months ago, and would like to thank AmD and Scalextric for once again helping to pull it all together.

“I’m sure that fans will get behind the competition and will embrace the opportunity to win a truly one-off prize. Hopefully the competition will prove to be as exciting for fans off-track as the action we have seen on-track this season, and would like to wish everyone who enters the very best of luck.”

BTCC returns for second bite of Thruxton cherry

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship is set for a second visit of the season to Hampshire's Thruxton Circuit next weekend (17/18 August), with Colin Turkington the man with the target on his back as Rounds 19, 20 and 21 approach.

West Surrey Racing's trio of BMW 330i M Sports have so far proven to be the car to beat this year, as the Bavarian marque has claimed ten victories out of 18 races.

Reigning champion Colin Turkington notched up another consistent performance at Snetterton to pull a further three points clear of nearest rival and stablemate Andrew Jordan, though the chasing pack - spearheaded by Josh Cook in the BTC Racing Honda - is far from out of the equation. The standings' top six drivers sit within 70 points of one-another. With 67 points on offer at each of the four events to come, there's plenty of scope for it all to change - and quickly.

Honda machinery has arguably proven to be the most suited to the high-speed sweepers at Britain's fastest race track having taken victory in 13 of the last 27 rounds there – including via Cook himself back in May.

That said, the BMWs were strong first time around. Jordan capitalised with a pair of victories as the outfit caught everyone on the hop out of the blocks with its trio of new-build 3 Series' fresh out of the workshop just a week before the curtain-raising event of 2019 at Brands Hatch.

Thruxton's a favourite of both fans and drivers alike, and a massive crowd descended on the circuit earlier this year. Another huge attendance is expected to bask in the August sunshine, and soak in the thrilling action served up by Britain's premier motorsport series.

Those unable to make the trip will be able to catch the action on qualifying and race-day, live and exclusively via the championship's long-term broadcast partners, ITV Sport, with an eight-hour programme of the best motor racing action in the country to be screened live on ITV4 next Sunday. The BTCC is in rude health, illustrated by ITV's year-on-year live broadcast figures for the championship seeing an 18 percent rise.

Toyota tweaks

One of the stories to emerge at Snetterton, after a summer break which saw teams striving to find every thousandth-of-a-second from their cars and drivers, was the pace of Tom Ingram and his Team Toyota GB with Ginsters Corolla.

The car is new-for-2019, and the first that Speedworks Motorsport has constructed from the ground up to compete in the series. While he had been there-or-thereabouts throughout the first half of the campaign, Ingram had yet to hit the heights he reached in the outgoing Avensis last year on the way to taking the Independent Drivers' and Teams' titles.

At Snetterton, though, the team made a major breakthrough. The in-season two-day test at the Norfolk circuit was spent hunting down a cure for a troublesome damping issue which had prevented their Corolla from operating as expected. It was immediately evident at Snetterton that Speedworks' efforts had borne fruit.

Ingram flew to pole position and followed up with a lights-to-flag win in race one – managing a three-second gap to next-best Dan Cammish.

“I couldn’t keep up and we didn’t have enough in the car," said Honda's Cammish, himself a man in good nick. “He had a bit of a quicker package and I could see where he was good – we couldn’t match it. They’ve worked hard, so all credit to them. We're all working hard, though. That's just how competitive it is in this championship."

“We made a massive step forward at the test," confirmed Ingram post-race. “It was so important for us. The way that the BTCC works over a race weekend, time is so tight and you can’t try the things you’d like to.

“The team have been none-stop trying to get every single last bit out of it. It was better there than the Avensis ever was, and if we’re there already – it’s a real good sign going forward."

Form men

Over the last three race weekends, at Croft, Oulton Park and Snetterton, Andrew Jordan has edged Colin Turkington in points scored by four points. The BMW Pirtek Racing man is striving to overcome an early-season deficit after a disastrous non-score back at Donington Park. He's keeping parity but the reigning champion has so far been able to keep Jordan at arms' length.

Jordan sealed a win-double at Thruxton earlier in the year, to bounce back immediately from that Midlands misfortune. Despite reaching the top step twice, he was only able to nibble away at Turkington's advantage. He will be hoping the dice rolls his way next weekend.

"It’s nip and tuck in the championship between myself and Colin," said Jordan. "To gain 30 points over four weekends isn’t going to happen easily. If he gets some bad luck somewhere, I need to be there to pick up the points."

The next in the form-book is Halfords Yuasa Racing's Dan Cammish. The Honda man has outshone his legendary team-mate, Matt Neal, in his second BTCC campaign and has constructed a title challenge from a string of podium finishes over the last three weekends. The top step has eluded him in 2019 to this point, but the Honda Civic Type R (FK8) is well suited to the pace and poise required at Thruxton. He'll look to take a bite out of the BMWs over Rounds 19, 20 and 21 on 'home turf' for Honda, based just up the road at Swindon.

Rory Butcher is another man looking to fire himself into championship contention. The AmD driver was instrumental in the outfit securing its maiden BTCC Independent Teams' trophy at Snetterton. He's also top of the tree in the Independent Drivers' championship and the Jack Sears Trophy.

Alongside with team-mate Sam Tordoff, the Essex outfit are enjoying their best streak in the BTCC to-date. Its first two victories came via Butcher but both he and Tordoff have combined to propel the AmD Honda squad to the top of the Independent Teams' running – albeit tied with BTC Racing on points.

Bath-based Josh Cook and team-mate Chris Smiley are the guys steering BTC Racing's Honda Civic Type Rs into Indy title contention, and following a podium-double at Snetterton, they'll be looking to follow up with more silverware in Hampshire – especially given Cook took to the top step there just a couple of months ago.

Thrill ride Thruxton awaits the BTCC

UK’s fastest track set to welcome Britain’s biggest motorsport series

The 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship has commenced in exhilarating and unpredictable fashion with five different race winners from the opening six races, and now Britain’s premier motor sport series heads to the UK’s fastest circuit.

The thrill ride that is Thruxton will be the scene of the next BTCC instalment as Rounds 7, 8 and 9 take place at the hugely popular Hampshire venue next weekend (18/19 May).

Josh Cook, Andrew Jordan, Rory Butcher and Tom Ingram have all claimed a win apiece so far as the early title picture continues to take shape, whilst reigning champion Colin Turkington is the only man to score two victories after his Donington Park double last time out.

A big crowd is expected to descend on Thruxton for its packed bill of racing in the middle of May with advanced tickets still on sale, whilst many more will watch the exciting action unfold live on ITV4.

Sutton sits atop early standings
Despite the aforementioned race winners, it is Adrian Flux Subaru Racing’s Ash Sutton who is currently leading the overall standings.

The championship order will make for further encouraging reading for the 2017 champion when you consider his BMR-run Subaru squad usually makes a slower start to proceedings in the BTCC. The talented young gun was outside the top ten at this early stage of his title winning campaign, with the attributes of the Subaru Levorg often suiting certain circuits later in the calendar.

“It’s great to be leading the standings and quite unexpected to be honest," said Sutton. "I am sure it’s going to be challenging with maximum success ballast on board. One slight error at Thruxton can lose you momentum, and before you know it you’ve got three cars steaming up behind you.

“The track is fantastic! It’s the fastest circuit in the UK and as a driver it is a roller-coaster ride, you are white knuckled. It’s one of those tracks where you do a lap and think ‘right, now breathe’, and then you are straight back into another one.

"You are just constantly on edge and the heart rate is racing, so it great for fans and drivers alike.”

Three podiums for Sutton tells only part of the story in what has been a dramatic start to the 2019 BTCC season.

Josh Cook (BTC Racing), Andrew Jordan (BMW Pirtek Racing) and Rory Butcher (Cobra Sport AmD AutoAid/RCIB Insurance) shared the spoils in changing conditions at Brands Hatch, before Team BMW's Colin Turkington claimed a double success and Tom Ingram – last year's runner-up – took the first win for the new manufacturer-backed Toyota Corolla at Donington Park.

Just six points separates the top five drivers in the current standings, but many more still harbour hopes of winning the most coveted prize in British motorsport in 2019.

Local Lights
Hampshire man Rob Collard will be banking on home support when the series roars into Thruxton next weekend and the BTCC veteran arrives at his local track in good form.

Collard has switched to the Sterling Insurance with Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall for 2019 after several seasons driving a rear-wheel-drive BMW. The multiple race winner has adapted well, scoring a second place finish during the final race at Donington Park last month.

“I was very, very pleased to get my first podium for Sterling Insurance with Power Maxed Racing and Vauxhall,” said Collard. “A lot of people wrote me off over the winter, and I was pleased to prove to the team and everybody that I’m still here and in-amongst it! It’s all looking very positive going in to Thruxton.”

Bath racer Josh Cook also regards Thruxton as his home patch and the BTC Racing driver has made his best ever start to a BTCC season with a victory and further podium from the first two events. Cook currently sits second in the overall standings, just three points off the championship summit.

“Thruxton is my home circuit and I love the place,” he said. “Obviously I had a good meeting there last year, so as always I’m hoping for good things. We will be looking at the championship, however, and we are after another solid points haul like we had at Donington.

“You can’t go into a weekend with any preconceived ideas. If you go there hoping to get what you had the year before then it never goes that way.

“Last year was good for me – to take a win there – but like I said we are here for the long game and I just need to make sure that we keep working on the car. It’s a long season, we are getting to grips with the car but there is an awful lot to learn.”

“It should be a great weekend. I think the first complex is a really good place to watch for fans, it’s an enjoyable part of the circuit. But my favourite corner is probably between Noble and Goodwood, which are really really fast corners. Church is great fun too but I actulally think you need to be braver at Noble and Goodwood.”

Timetable and tickets
Rounds 7, 8 and 9 of the 2019 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship takes place at Thruxton on Sunday 19 May, with all three BTCC contests – as well as the huge list of support races – to be broadcast live and in high-definition on ITV4. Those in attendance at the circuit can stay in touch with the commentary and live timing from every session, available at btcc.net/live throughout the weekend.

Touring car stars prep for Thruxton double bill

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship and several of its support categories descended on Thruxton yesterday for a key test ahead of a tantalising double helping of the UK’s premier motor racing series over the coming months.

For the first time since 2007, Thruxton will play host to the BTCC twice this season – on 18-19 May and 16-18 August. As the fastest circuit in the country – with speeds reaching an eye-watering 160mph through the quickest sections – the popular Hampshire track presents a unique challenge. That means every opportunity to put miles on the clock is precious – and between them, the 29 touring car drivers in attendance today logged more than 1,200 laps.

Fans enjoyed free entry to the test to watch their tin-top heroes in action – and if the drivers’ awe-inspiring commitment through Thruxton’s flat-out sweepers is anything to go by, spectators are in for a real treat come May and August.

Halfords Yuasa Racing star Dan Cammish was arguably the most committed of all, setting a scintillating pace in the morning session that nobody could match in the afternoon. More than three tenths-of-a-second under the existing lap record, the Yorkshireman led a Honda Civic 1-2-3 at the top of the timesheets, ahead of BTC Racing’s Chris Smiley and Cobra Sport AmD AutoAid/RCIB Insurance ace Rory Butcher.

In evidence of just how close and intense the competition is in the BTCC, less than one second blanketed the gaggle of cars from Butcher in third all the way back to Stephen Jelley in 20th.

“I always enjoy coming to Thruxton,” enthused Cammish. “It’s a lot of fun to drive and Honda has historically gone well round here. It’s a bit of a home track for us too, so it’s fantastic to have two race weekends this year.

“Thruxton is well-known as the fastest circuit in the country, and it feels every bit of it when you’re driving round. No matter how many laps you’ve done, Church corner never gets boring – it’s always an adventure. It’s enjoyable enough to drive on your own – but when you’re in a pack of 30 cars, it becomes a challenge like no other…”

More high-profile names at the test included defending title-holder Colin Turkington (sixth overall), current championship leader and Thruxton instructor Josh Cook from nearby Bath (seventh), Hampshire’s own Rob Collard (12th), five-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton’s brother Nicolas Hamilton (24th) and former F1 podium-finisher Mark Blundell (28th).

Making his BTCC debut this year, the 1992 Le Mans 24 Hours winner is still finding his feet in the series and adapting to its famously cut-and-thrust, doorhandle-to-doorhandle nature. He admitted that he also needed to re-adjust to Thruxton’s particular demands, having not driven the track for more than three decades…

“Thruxton is pretty unique as a circuit, and I think everybody really enjoys coming here,” said Blundell. “It’s a one-off – there’s nowhere else like it in the world. It’s flat-out and the lap just unfolds in front of you, with extremely challenging corners like Church that call for maximum commitment. It’s a remarkable place. You get a slot of slipstreaming in the races – which is vital for the drivers and very exciting for the fans.”

In addition to the BTCC, leading lights from the F4 British Championship – the Formula 1 stars of the future – the Ginetta Junior Championship for prodigiously talented 14-to-17-year-olds and the Ginetta GT5 Challenge took to the track, offering a glimpse of the wide variety of entertainment to be enjoyed later this year.

Advance tickets for the two Thruxton BTCC race meetings are available from just £13 for Saturday entry and £29 for Sunday. Accompanied children aged 12 and under will be admitted free of charge.

Kwik Fit and BTCC to raise funds for Children with Cancer UK over 2019 season

The UK’s largest motorsport championship and the UK’s leading automotive servicing and repair company today announce that they are joining forces over the 2019 season to raise funds for Children with Cancer UK.

The announcement is being made at the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship stand at Autosport International, the first public event for the BTCC under the new title sponsorship for 2019.

Kwik Fit and the BTCC will be seeking to help Children with Cancer UK by coming together to harness the support of the race teams and nearly 400,000 spectators who attend the race weekends throughout the season, as well as those who follow the championship on TV and via social media and online channels. Kwik Fit staff will be present at all the championship circuits to help fundraise for the UK’s leading charity dedicated to the fight against cancer in children and young people.

There will be a wide range of fundraising initiatives running over the championship programme, presenting some ‘money-can’t buy’ opportunities for BTCC fans. These will include the chance to win a lap ride in the BTCC safety car, to wave the chequered flag for a championship race, walk the track prior to the start of racing, win VIP tickets to the final race weekend, and to meet a driver and be part of a BTCC team for a day.

Children with Cancer UK’s mission is to improve survival rates and the quality of survival in young cancer patients and to find ways to prevent cancer in the future. It funds research, works to raise awareness and also provides practical support for young cancer patients and their families. A key objective of the fundraising is to help fund new family accommodation at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital to keep families together while children from across the UK receive cancer treatment.

Andy Lane, Marketing Director at Kwik Fit and Alan Gow, Series Director of the BTCC will be at Autosport International to make the announcement. Andy Lane said: “We are really excited to be sponsoring the BTCC and are very grateful to the championship for joining us in supporting Children with Cancer UK. We know that BTCC fans are not only passionate about the sport but have also been very supportive of good causes over many seasons. We hope that children with cancer will benefit from their support this season.”

Alan Gow added: “Our new sponsorship agreement with Kwik Fit is bringing a new look to the championship this year, and we have lots of new initiatives to add to fans’ enjoyment of the race weekends and the overall programme in general. While we live and breathe our racing, we hope that by supporting Children with Cancer UK the championship can provide a benefit to those families facing a much bigger challenge than getting a podium position.”

As well as fundraising at BTCC events, Kwik Fit employees will also be carrying out their own activity to support Children with Cancer UK. Details of their ongoing fundraising programme will be shared via social media, with customers able to follow the company on Twitter at @kwik_fit.

Kwik Fit is the new sponsor of the BTCC for the 2019 season. The company’s branding will appear at the tracks, on the cars, driver and team clothing as well as digital collateral. Kwik Fit will also appear on the opening and closing credits and in the advertising breaks of the ITV broadcasts.

Kwik Fit will be aiming to attract even more fans to the series by highlighting the championship with its own customers, both in its national network of centres and online retail operations, as well as through its own marketing and social channels.

Trade Price Cars Racing confirms 2019 BTCC programme

Trade Price Cars Racing will make the move into the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship for the 2019 season with a two car team.

The award-winning Essex-based car dealer has agreed terms to purchase the two Audi S3s that were previously entered by AmD, along with its TOCA BTCC Licences (TBLs) required to compete in the series, with AmD continuing to run the cars as part of a two-year deal.

Trade Price Cars is no stranger to the BTCC paddock, having been involved in the series as a headline team sponsor during the 2018 season.

Managing Director Dan Kirby is also well known in motorsport circles from his own racing career, having secured multiple podium finishes whilst competing in a range of different championships.

That includes an entry in the BTCC-supporting Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup in 2017, as well as a guest drive in Porsche Carrera Cup GB at the 60th BTCC Anniversary meeting at Snetterton earlier this year.

The driver line-upfor Trade Price Cars Racing will be announced in due course, with the two Audis undergoing a thorough rebuild in preparation for the start of testing ahead of the 2019 season.

“We dipped our toe in the water in 2018 as a sponsor, but we feel the time is right to take our involvement in the BTCC to the next level,” Kirby said.

“The deal with AmD is one that is extremely attractive and gives us greater control over the programme to really maximise our investment. It also provides us with more flexibility to boost our corporate identity, and to promote the Trade Price Cars name to a hugely captive audience.

“In terms of the car, the Audi is a package that works for us from a business perspective and the AmD team have done a great job in developing it in recent seasons.

“I’m confident that we can all work together to unlock more of the potential that is in the Audi during 2019, and are in discussions with drivers who can help move the cars forwards up the grid next year.”

AmD has been responsible for running the Audi since 2015 and has secured multiple points-scoring finishes in recent seasons – including a first podium finish at Brands Hatch earlier this year.

“This new partnership with Trade Price Cars is a very exciting one for AmD,” AmD Team Principal Shaun Hollamby said. “To have the opportunity to work alongside another successful local business is a one that makes perfect sense for us, and I feel that it gives us a fantastic opportunity to build on the progress we have made with the Audis in recent years to move forwards up the grid.

“We are looking forward to working with Dan and Trade Price Cars for the next two years and making a success of our new partnership both on and off track.”

Former BTCC and UK Clio Cup driver Andy Wilmot will take up the role of joint Team Principal alongside Hollamby with immediate effect, having joined the outfit from Matrix Motorsport.

“I'm delighted to have been given the opportunity to form the team from the beginning," he said. "Working for Trade Price Cars during the week as a buyer, I understand the brand and corporate goals that the business is trying to achieve.

"We can now adopt that identity and let it breed into the race team. It’s a very exciting prospect.”

The race is on for AutoAid/RCIB Insurance Racing's road-going MG6...

AmD with AutoAid/RCIB Insurance Racing will this weekend give eight competition winners the chance to win a road-going replica of their MG6 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship racer via an ultra-competitive Scalextric battle!

Entries aren’t closed yet, either.  Two spots are still open... For your chance to compete for the MG6, buy team merchandise before 10am Sunday at the circuit!

Born from an idea put forwards by joint title sponsors AutoAid and RCIB Insurance – which is providing the headline prize – the competition ran throughout the 2018 season with the winner being chosen in this unique slot-car shoot-out to be held at this weekend's Brands Hatch finale.

Prior to the the last race weekend of this 60th anniversary campaign, a number of giveaways took place through AutoAid and RCIB Insurance’s social media channels with a total of eight winners picked to join the team at Brands Hatch.

Each individual winner also got their hands on a signed Scalextric model of an RCIB-backed race car.

This weekend, those eight competition winners will not only get the chance to watch the action on track, but will also do battle themselves in a series of knock-out races using a Scalextric set to decide the overall victor.

That person will win an MG6 GT featuring the same Joyce Designs livery that is displayed on AmD's MGs this season.

The car will also benefit from a range of upgrades including a one-off rear wing, an AmD engine remap, a new Cobra exhaust system, Eibach springs and Pipercross filters.

An Autoglym car care set will be thrown into the mix, whilst AmD will also carry out a full carbon clean of the engine using the industry leading technology of team sponsors Carbon Clean. The new car will also be handed over running with fresh Liqui Moly oil as provided by the team’s latest racing partner.
