Pirtek and Jordan extend partnership to 2021

Pirtek UK and Andrew Jordan have today confirmed a new deal that will take their long-standing partnership through until at least the end of the 2021 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. The new deal will come into play at the end of the 2018 season, and means Jordan will continue to compete in Britain’s premier racing series with headline backing from Pirtek for at least the next four years.

The three-year extension will further strengthen a partnership between Pirtek and the Jordan family that has been in place for well over a decade, having initially started back in 2004 when Pirtek first supported Andrew’s father Mike in the British GT Championship.

As Andrew embarked on his own career in Junior Rallycross, so his relationship with Pirtek grew, with Europe’s number one provider of fluid transfer solutions supporting him as he then moved into circuit racing in the Renault Clio Cup before debuting in the BTCC in 2008.

Since then, he has gone on to establish himself as one of the top drivers in the series, with 19 wins, 57 podiums and a career total of more than 2000 points. He lifted the overall championship title in 2013 and has also clinched the Independents’ title on three separate occasions – in 2012, 2013 and 2016.

AJ will once again compete with the championship-winning West Surrey Racing team this season in a BMW 125i M Sport, and his focus is firmly on challenging for Drivers' honours for a second time.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be able to extend my deal with Pirtek for another three years – particularly when we still have a year to run on our current deal,” he said. “Back when our deal with Pirtek first started, we couldn’t have imagined it would have become the long-term partnership it is now, and one of the longest-standing relationships in British motorsport.

“What we have with Pirtek is much more than just a traditional sponsorship deal; we have a special relationship that has developed from working with [Marketing Manager] Tammie Argent-Peters and her team through the years, and that works for all parties involved.

“That is something that I am extremely proud of, as relationships like that rarely come along. I’m looking forward to working with Tammie to explore new ways in which we can showcase our partnership – in both the BTCC and elsewhere – in the coming years.

“For me personally, it is huge to have the security of a new multi-year deal as it allows me to focus on the job I have to do on track, and I feel we are in a fantastic position to challenge for top honours together for another four years.”

Pirtek UK MD, Chris Stuckey was also pleased to extend the current agreement: “The relationship with Andrew and the Jordan family has been a huge success for Pirtek and our many franchisees, and this new deal is testament to how strong our relationship is.

“For well over a decade, Andrew has been a fantastic ambassador for the Pirtek brand, and the BTCC has provided our franchisees with unrivalled levels of exposure in front of an ever-expanding audience.

“We are excited about the prospect of working with Andrew in the coming years to take our relationship to the next level as our business continues to grow, and as Andrew chases further success on track in Pirtek Racing colours.”

Plato to remain with BMR

BMR Racing has this morning announced that double champion Jason Plato will remain with the outfit for the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Last year saw the BTCC legend celebrate his 50th pole position and his 96th win in the series and this season, the 50-year-old will be competing his 20th campaign in the championship, having made his debut in 1997. Plato took the Drivers’ title in both 2001 and 2010, and he harbours the target of reaching a century of victories this year, alongside his charge for title number three.

Subaru enters its third season with the Levorg Sport Tourer and in addition to his own personal targets, the team earmark Plato as an essential part of BMR Racing alongside team-mate and incumbent champ Ashley Sutton in assisting its push for both the Manufacturers'/Constructors' and Teams' crowns.

“I'm really looking forward to 2018. We have some exciting new developments in progress which should see the Adrian Flux BMR Subaru Levorgs fighting at the sharp end of the grid yet again. April can’t come soon enough!” said Jason.

Warren Scott, BMR Racing Team Principal, added: “I am pleased to retain Jason in the team for another year and am looking forward to supporting him as he searches for his 100th win, as well as during his fight for the championship throughout what promises to be an unforgettable year.”

“We’re delighted to keep Jason in the Subaru Levorg for the 2018 season," said Paul Tunnicliffe, Managing Director of Subaru UK. "His experience is invaluable to the team and we’re certain that he can continue to build on his previous successes in the British Touring Car Championship with both Subaru UK and the BMR Team.”

Ciceley Motorsport announces expansion with signing of Oliphant

Ciceley Motorsport has today announced that it is to expand its line-up, with Tom Oliphant signing a deal to join the team for an assault on the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Leamington Spa-based Oliphant has been racing on the BTCC support package for the last four seasons. The 27-year-old won the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup in a record-breaking 2015 season before moving to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, in which he scored six podium results and finished in the top four in the title race in both 2016 and 2017.

He has also competed in selected rounds of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, supporting Formula One Grands Prix, and is currently the championship leader of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, in which he won the 100th race in the category’s history.

“I’m delighted to announce that I will be stepping up to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this season with Ciceley Motorsport," said Oliphant. The BTCC is the biggest championship in the UK and it’s a fantastic opportunity for me and my partners."

“I’m under no illusions as to the challenge facing me this season. It’s my first season in touring cars and I’ll be coming up against a hugely competitive grid filled with talented drivers, but we’re up for the challenge and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in

“I’m really happy to be working with Ciceley. They are a proven front-running squad in the championship and the Mercedes is an established race-winning car, which combined is a perfect platform for me to be competitive in the series from the off."

“We’re currently finalising deals with sponsors moving forward and look forward to announcing our partners in March, while we’re are always looking to get new companies on-board as we enter the highest-profile series in the UK.”

Russell Morgan, Ciceley Motorsport Team Principal, added: “These are exciting times for Ciceley, with Tom Joining Adam Morgan. We have two gifted young drivers peddling our Mercedes-Benz A-Class in the BTCC this year.

"As soon as I heard that Tom was available we moved mountains in our quest to sign him. Tom is exactly the type of driver I want in my squad: professional in and out of the car and blisteringly fast.

“Tom will be eligible for both the Independent Drivers’ championship and the coveted Jack Sears Trophy. I expect him to do well in both. Although he has no front-wheel drive experience, our cars are very well balanced and we have a comprehensive pre-season test schedule arranged. I am confident that Tom will soon get to grips with the Mercedes and be on the pace straight away.”

Ciceley Motorsport is well established within the BTCC series and it enters the championship’s landmark 60th season with six wins and 21 podium finishes across the last four racing seasons with its familiar A-Class. Norman Burgess, Ciceley Motorsport Commercial Director, is equally positive about the season ahead.

“At last! We have always wanted to enhance our squad and bring a second driver into the Ciceley Motorsport team," said Burgess. Tom is a real go-getter and has enjoyed a fantastic career. The competition between Adam Morgan and Aiden Moffat has been beneficial to the team’s growth and progress within the BTCC and now that Tom has entered the fold things are really going to hot up in 2018.

"We have had plenty of interest in a second Ciceley Motorsport car in the past, but things haven’t just been perfect for one reason or another. We just had to go all out to land Tom: he fits our team demographic perfectly and we can’t wait to start working with him.”

RCIB Insurance, AutoAid teams with AmDtuning.com for 2018 BTCC season

The AmDtuning.com team can today confirm that RCIB Insurance and AutoAid Breakdown will take on the role of title sponsors for the team’s new MG programme during the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship season.

The West Thurrock-based team announced earlier this month that it had acquired the two MG6 GTs previously campaigned by Triple Eight, which it will run in the BTCC’s 60th anniversary season as part of an expanded four-car programme.

Following extensive talks in recent weeks, a deal has now been agreed that will see Right Choice Insurance Brokers, and sister company AutoAid Breakdown, take on the role of title sponsors for the two MGs.

Under the terms of the new agreement, the cars will compete under the AmDtuning.com with AutoAid/RCIB Insurance Racing banner.

RCIB Insurance, headed by Mike Joseph, has more than 20 years of experience in the industry and has developed into one of the fastest growing insurance companies in Europe.

AutoAid Breakdown was brought into the RCIB group back in 2016 and has won numerous awards for providing customers with high quality, all-inclusive breakdown cover at cost effective prices – offering the kind of value for money not seen anywhere else in the market.

Both RCIB Insurance and AutoAid Breakdown are no strangers to racing fans having been involved in motorsport for a number of years in a range of different series, including the BTCC, British GT Championship and British Rallycross.

The first driver in the AmDtuning.com with AutoAid/RCIB Insurance Racing line-up has now been signed and will be announced in due course, with discussions ongoing with a number of drivers in regards to the second seat.

Work continues on preparation of the two MG6 GT cars ahead of the start of pre-season testing, with a new look livery to be revealed at the annual Media Day event at Donington Park next month.

Shaun Hollamby, AmDtuning.com team boss said:
"It goes without saying that we are delighted to welcome RCIB Insurance and AutoAid Breakdown onboard for the 2018 season. This new MG programme is one that is extremely exciting for us as a team, and we are delighted to have agreed a deal for them to be title sponsor for the year ahead.

"Mike and his team are no strangers to motorsport and know the value that comes from being part of the BTCC, and our aim during the year ahead is to reward their investment in this programme with some strong results on track.

"This new partnership has already allowed us to bring together a deal to sign a very quick young driver for the first car, who we feel is more than capable of taking the MG back to the podium and challenging for some silverware."

Mike Joseph, RCIB Insurance Managing Director said:
"We are pleased to renew our sponsorship of the MG BTCC cars, this time under the management of fellow Essex company AmDTuning. We are looking forward to working with Shaun and the team, and are very excited about the plans for 2018."

Ciceley confirms Morgan return

Ciceley Motorsport has today announced that Adam Morgan will be returning with the outfit for the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Offers were on the table for Morgan to move team and championship during the winter break but the Lancashireman made his intentions clear, preferring to stay put, with he and Ciceley eyeing a championship challenge this season.

“I need to get right up the championship points table this year,” said Morgan. “Last year was going so well up until Oulton Park and Croft, when a fire at the former and an engine problem at the latter really put us on the back foot.

“We were third in the standings heading to Oulton but then had six races without a point, and that really did for us. The BTCC is so tight, which is brilliant in one way but disastrous in another. If you don’t have a good qualifying then it can ruin your weekend and a mechanical drama during race one is an absolute nightmare.

“The competiveness to me is the addiction as a driver and the BTCC is the best championship out there for both drivers and their teams. It was nice to be thought of by other teams but my sponsors are loyal to me and the BTCC Independents' and Drivers' Championships are my sole aim, and so I have elected to stay with the guys at Ciceley.”

Norman Burgess, Commercial Director Ciceley Motorsport, expressed his delight at retaining Morgan’s services. Five of the racer’s six BTCC campaigns, since entering the championship with Speedworks Motorsport back in 2012, have been spent competing under the Ciceley banner – last year in Mac Tools colours. It’s been a fruitful partnership, too, with four victories and a further 14 podiums in the bag.

“It’s great that Adam is so committed to the BTCC and his Ciceley Motorsport team,” said Burgess. “We have all enjoyed an incredible journey together and still absolutely love our racing.

“The British Touring Car Championship is the best package in Europe without doubt, and we at Ciceley Motorsport are always looking to improve and grow our business. We must have visited every other championship going, but nothing comes close to the BTCC. The commercial opportunities, the epic week-in week-out close racing, and, of course, the passion of the fans are leagues above anything else out there.”

The team still has two major announcements to make in the coming weeks as it fully fleshes out its 2018 plans.

“We have been busy little bees during the winter,” added Burgess. “We are really looking forward to this year, as there have been some big changes made in the team and we can’t wait to share the news.

“We still have a few commercial projects to finalise but have a great pre-season test schedule planned. Our news will be a shock to some, but a lot of time and effort has been poured into making 2018 our best season ever. MAC Tools remains as our title sponsors and we are looking forward, ready for the season ahead.”

Champions honoured at MSA awards

Ashley Sutton, BMW and West Surrey Racing were honoured at the Motor Sports Association's Night of Champions this past weekend (27 January), with FIA President Jean Todt and FIA Deputy President (Sport) Graham Stoker on hand alongside Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship Series Director Alan Gow for the official presentation.

Gow, who held the position of MSA Chairman from 2006-2017, hosted the winners of British motor sport’s most prestigious titles for the annual awards evening at the Royal Automobile Club, with Steve Rider and ITV colleague Louise Goodman introducing proceedings.

Sutton collected the BTCC Drivers' crown – the headline prize in domestic motor sport – with BMW/West Surrey Racing taking home the prestigious Manufacturers' trophy.

A host of special guests were in attendance, including legendary commentator Murray Walker OBE and Sir Frank Williams who each collected the MSA's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jamie Caroline was another TOCA package representative in attendance, as he formally received the F4 British Championship – Certified by FIA, powered by EcoBoost title.

“The Night of Champions is our chance to celebrate those who have excelled in their chosen discipline to win the premier titles in UK motor sport: the MSA British Championships," said Gow.

"It also offers a great opportunity to recognise some of the outstanding, but perhaps largely unseen, achievements by members of the British motor sport community who give their time to enable this great sport to take place.

“On behalf of the MSA, I would like to congratulate all of the night’s winners on their achievements in 2017. I also wish to thank Jean and Graham for taking the time to join us once again to reflect on another exceptional season of UK motor sport.”

AmD fully focussed on BTCC with expanded operation

AmD Tuning with Cobra Exhausts recently announced that it is set to expand its Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship operation in 2018, having pared back efforts across other series to switch full-focus onto its BTCC push with two newly acquired MG6 GTs joining the Audi S3 Saloons.

The opportunity to take delivery of two proven race-winning machines was too good for team owner Shaun Hollamby to turn down.

“The big news for us this year is that we’re going to be running the pair of MG6 GTs this year alongside our Audi S3 Saloons,” said Hollamby. “The MG has arguably been one of the most successful touring cars over the last few years throughout the NGTC era so for us, it will prove a great source of information.

“Our workload will be higher this year, but we pulled back on our GT operation in the middle of last year to concentrate on touring cars, not necessarily with the intention of running four but it did mean we had the space and capacity to run four when the opportunity arose – it’s just great for us, really exciting.

“We jumped at the chance to get hold of the MGs. Every car on the grid nowadays has the potential to be a front-running car but you aren’t often given the chance to run an ex race-winning car which was run by a strong team previously.

“The way the deal has worked out means that it hasn’t stretched us financially, which is important, and means that we have the scope to make sure the cars are best prepared and tested properly prior to the season.”

The team has already announced its Audi-wielding duo, in longstanding team-member Ollie Jackson and rookie Sam Smelt. Hollamby is eager to match up that mix of youth and experience as it seeks drivers to fill its two remaining seats.

“We’re working really hard to make everything right and being a racer at heart, I don’t run racing cars just as a means of earning money in particular,” continued Hollamby. “We’re in the BTCC because it’s something we really want to do. The better the deal I can offer to potential drivers, the better the quality of driver we can look at getting in.

“It’s a fine balance to have the right budget in place to secure the right engineers, drivers and testing programme so you’ve got to have the correct infrastructure and backing in place to make it happen. Rob Tinckner, my Team Manager, takes control of the team on a day-to-day basis. He gets the plates spinning and I’m there to keep them spinning!”

“We’re looking to announce our full line-up soon and we’re talking to three really as it stands that are in prime position to drive. We’re looking for those who we think will be best able to exploit our cars. We’re not afraid to look at a rookie, either, if they meet our criteria – as our signing of Sam Smelt shows.

“Senna Proctor in the Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall Astra was a prime example last year which showed you can have a rookie in the car that can really impress if everything behind the scenes is done properly. We are looking to the same sort of balance in the MGs as we have in the Audis – with experience in Ollie Jackson and young talent in Sam Smelt.”

The MG6 GT has proven a more-than-capable platform in the BTCC throughout the NGTC era and steps have been taken at AmD to ensure they will be best-prepared for the season ahead come April.

“The MGs have been on a diet since we’ve had them,” added Hollamby. “They’ve been blasted and have had a few bits of extra prep so far. The key thing is that the cars needed just a little bit of TLC in my opinion. Josh Cook, who I know well, gave me a few pointers as to where he felt the cars could be made a little better and those made a lot of sense.”

Ingram gunning for British motorsport's biggest prize with Speedworks

Tom Ingram has one goal on his mind ahead of the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship – building upon the impressive progress he and Speedworks Motorsport made last year to clinch the most coveted crown in national racing.

Ingram and Speedworks came out-of-the-blocks flying at the start of 2017, with the talented young Bucks ace tallying eight top five finishes from the opening nine rounds – including a brace of emphatic victories – to establish a commanding 17-point advantage in the overall Drivers’ standings leaving Thruxton in May.

In only his fourth campaign in what is commonly regarded as the world’s premier and most fiercely-disputed tin-top series, Ingram looked set to truly take on the sport’s biggest-hitters, but a luckless mid-season run would conspire to derail his charge.

Undeterred, the 24-year-old came back fighting over the second half to lift the Independents’ Trophy, with Speedworks similarly doing the business in the Independent Teams’ tussle as the Cheshire-based outfit sealed its breakthrough BTCC success in fine style.

Ingram ultimately placed third amongst the 37 high-calibre contenders – some of the finest touring car protagonists on the planet – in the final Drivers’ table, ahead of defending champion Gordon Shedden and three fellow former title-holders. Along the way, he led more laps than any of his adversaries, posted the best average qualifying record of anybody in the field for the second year running and reached the podium on nine occasions – four times the top step.

In recognition of his outstanding performance behind the wheel of Speedworks’ #80 Toyota Avensis, Ingram was voted the series’ best driver of 2017 by team bosses in a poll held by leading specialist publication Motorsport News. Now, he wants to live up to that billing by challenging for British motor sport’s most prestigious prize – the BTCC Drivers’ crown.

“After what we accomplished last year, there can only be one objective for 2018 – the overall title,” said Ingram. “There was never any question that we would be staying with Speedworks this year. They’re like my second family. The dynamic between us works so well – it has since day one, and it’s getting stronger all the time.

“I must pay tribute, too, to the vital ongoing support of our loyal partner Hansford Sensors, without whom none of this would have been possible. We’re heading towards a milestone in our relationship with Chris and his team, and it’s crazy to think we’ve gone from Ginetta Juniors right up to aiming for the BTCC title together.

"We’re also incredibly lucky to have the backing of key returning sponsors the Logistics People, Total Rail Solutions, Reis Motorsport Insurance and Global Brands, who similarly play a major role in getting us on-track. I owe a massive ‘thank you’ to each and every one of them.

“All that said, of course, we’re still a comparatively small, tight-knit team, so to do what we did last season with the resources we had – up against a whole host of more experienced and better-funded rivals – was nothing short of phenomenal. Winning both Indie championships was a huge tick in the box, but we don’t plan to stop there – we want to push for even more this year, and I see no reason why we can’t achieve that.

“Several teams are rolling out new cars, whereas the Avensis is a proven package which means we can hit the ground running in the curtain-raiser at Brands Hatch in April, and on the driving side, I’m not afraid of anyone.

"I’ve shown that I can race against and regularly beat the Jason Platos, Colin Turkingtons and Matt Neals of this world, and I think 2017 demonstrated that the tide is turning in the BTCC and that the old guard that have ruled the roost for so long are being replaced by the new generation. And I want to be the standard-bearer of that new generation for many years to come.”

“2017 was a real watershed campaign for Speedworks,” echoed Team Principal Christian Dick. “To make the leap from occasional podium-finisher and race-winner to genuine title contender marked a significant step forward, and the key to that was consistency. We scored points in more than 80 per cent of the races, and but for two torrid weekends at Oulton Park and Croft – through little fault of his own – Tom would have been right up there in the mix for the outright championship come season’s end.

“For us, there was never any doubt that we wanted Tom back in the car this year. He is an absolutely integral part of the team and he continues to get better by the day. Some of his drives last year were frankly mind-blowing, and if he maintains that curve of progression into 2018, everybody else should be very worried indeed.

“We have complete confidence in Tom to get the job done, and we have complete confidence that in the Avensis, we can give him the tools he needs to battle for both Independents’ titles again and the overall Drivers’ title too.

"We proved what the Toyota is capable of last season, and considering the updates we have planned, we expect it to be even more of a potent proposition this year. With the renowned strength-in-depth of the BTCC, we’re under no illusions that a massive dogfight lies ahead – but we’re ready to come out punching.”

Proctor completes PMR line-up

Power Maxed Racing has today announced that Senna Proctor will remain with the team for the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The 19-year-old, who secured the prestigious Jack Sears Trophy with five rounds of the 2017 season left to run, will join new team-mate Josh Cook, who himself is a Jack Sears Trophy winner – securing the honours back in 2015, also with PMR.

A year of data is now in the bag with the squad's Vauxhall Astra, and a regular top ten finisher in Proctor rejoining the fold, the Warwickshire-based team are confident of success when the season kicks off this April at the season opener at Brands Hatch.

“Continuity is key for any race team, and we’re delighted to have secured Senna for his second consecutive season in the car," said Team Manager Martin Broadhurst. "The team have been working incredibly hard throughout the winter months to ensure Senna stayed with us for 2018, and hopefully beyond. The fact we’ll have two Jack Sears Trophy champions, who’ve both won with us, is the icing on the cake."

“We are well aware of Senna’s ability," said Team Principal Adam Weaver. "He is still only 19 and developed superbly as a driver during last season. With a year in the car under his belt and a winter of hard work we expect him to be very strong in 2018. I believe we have secured the most exciting lineup in the championship with two of the past three Jack Sears Trophy winners and cannot wait for the season to start.”

Senna Proctor added: “It’s great to be staying with Power Maxed Racing for the forthcoming season. We’ve been working hard together through the winter to strike the right deal, and you can’t put a price on having confidence in both the car and the team behind it.

"Last year was a fantastic year for all of us, and with the work Martin Broadhurst and the team have been putting in, as well as having Josh Cook as a team mate, I’m confident 2018 will be our year!

"I’d like to thank my existing sponsors, LAPD, Bee Health and Proctor Plant for the continued support.”

In their continued efforts to further nurture young motor sport talent, PMR have formed a two-way partnership with fledgling Renault UK Clio Cup team, Matrix Motorsport, for 2018 and beyond.

Headed up by Senna Proctor, this initiative will give Matrix Motorsport drivers and sponsors the opportunity to get a taste of the touring car paddock from the inside, and create a defined route into BTCC.

PMR will reveal the 2018 livery of its Vauxhall Astra at BTCC Season Launch, taking place at Donington Park on 27 March.

Honda and Team Dynamics pay tribute as Gordon Shedden departs for pastures new

Honda and Halfords Yuasa Racing would like to thank Gordon Shedden for his years of loyal service to the brand and team in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), as the Scot departs for a new challenge ahead of the 2018 campaign.

Gordon first joined Honda in its Team Halfords guise back in 2006, completing three seasons for the squad in his initial stint, claiming ten victories and a best championship finish of third as he immediately made his mark in Britain’s premier motor sport series.

Affectionately known as ‘Flash’ within the paddock, Gordon rejoined Honda in 2010, since when he has gone on to claim 38 further race wins and a hat-trick of Drivers’ crowns – in 2012, 2015 and 2016. In so doing, he formed a formidable partnership with team-mate Matt Neal – himself a three-time BTCC Champion in Honda machinery.

Halfords Yuasa Racing is continuing its preparations for the 2018 season and will announce Gordon’s replacement in due course.

Gordon Shedden said: “Today is a really difficult and emotional day for me. I can confirm I will not be competing in the British Touring Car Championship in 2018, which obviously means I will not be racing with Honda and Team Dynamics. They have been part of my life for the last 11 years and I have been made to feel a part of the family.

“Steve and Matt Neal gave me a chance in 2006, and we haven’t looked back since. From a Fiesta racer to a triple British Touring Car Champion, I could not have dreamed of the success we have achieved together. That success, along with Matt’s three championships, is a testament to the hard work, determination and passion that is intrinsic in the team. To Steve, Matt, [Technical Director] Barry Plowman and everyone at Team Dynamics I will be forever grateful, in particular my race engineer Eddie Hinckley, who has engineered my car since 2006!

“I am very lucky to have had such a successful partnership with the team, Honda and all our sponsors. We have been on a huge journey together, achieving multiple Teams’, Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ Championships. Along the way, we have had a lot of fun and created memories I will take and cherish forever. It may be the end of a chapter, but it won’t be the end of the friendships I have made.”

David Hodgetts, Managing Director, Honda UK, said: “I would like to thank Gordon for the key role he has played in Honda’s BTCC successes over the past decade. He has made a tremendous contribution to the team, not only winning three Drivers’ titles but also helping us to secure five Manufacturers’ crowns and six Teams’ trophies, which is an outstanding accomplishment by any measure. Indeed, his 48 career victories place him fourth on the all-time list – and we are immensely proud that he achieved every single one of them in Honda cars. I wish Gordon all the best in his future career.”

Matt Neal added: “Gordon is a part of our family and success story. He’s got a new and exciting opportunity and we would never hold him back from that. We wish him the very best of success in his new challenge – he’s a phenomenal competitor and he’s certainly talented enough! One thing is for sure – despite ‘Flash’ racing elsewhere this season, he’ll always remain part of our Dynamics family and part of our team.”
