One Motorsport to focus on 2026 return

TEAM STATEMENT FROM ONE MOTORSPORT

After careful consideration One Motorsport has determined that it will not participate in the remaining rounds of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

This difficult decision has been made based on several factors, including the current health status of Team Owner Steve Dudman, as his involvement and support remain key in multiple areas for the team.

We are now primarily turning our focus to the 2026 campaign, strengthening for the future operation, success and longevity of the team and its race cars. This will be achieved through the reinforcement of current commercial and technical partnerships, along with securing new partners, to ensure that when we return, One Motorsport is competing at the sharp end of Britain's premier and most prestigious motorsport championship.

We would like to thank our partners, supporters and loyal fans for their incredible ongoing support and backing this year, you’re the reason we do this, stick with us and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates on our 2026 return in due course.

Goodyear to supply hard compound tyres exclusively for “ultra-fast” Thruxton

Goodyear will supply only its hard compound tyre for the next three rounds of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) this weekend at Thruxton.

The Hampshire circuit’s high-speed layout and extremely abrasive surface make it the only venue on the BTCC calendar where a single Goodyear compound is mandated across all track sessions.

Each driver will receive five sets of Goodyear’s red-walled hard compound tyres for the weekend. They may also carry over one extra set of hard tyres from previous events at Brands Hatch Indy and Snetterton, where the same compound was also in use.

Goodyear’s hard compound tyre is designed specifically to cope with the extreme demands of the championship’s toughest tracks. Incorporating technologies developed to withstand the high lateral forces generated by Thruxton's high-speed, 2.36-mile configuration, the tyre is designed to endure the aggressive kerbs and heavily abrasive surface presented by the circuit.

Michael Butler, Goodyear’s BTCC Event Leader, explains: “Thruxton is ultra-fast. Its abrasive surface and aggressive kerbs make it one of the toughest tracks in the world on tyres, and as such it demands the most durable compound in our range. Goodyear’s hard compound tyre provides the consistency teams need to manage wear and strategy effectively here.

“At Thruxton, our approach is guided by extensive experience and countless hours of running at the circuit. We made a deliberate decision not to offer a choice of compounds this weekend, requiring drivers to use the hard tyre for qualifying and all three races. We also enforce specific pressure and camber settings to ensure optimal performance and safety across all sessions.”

Cammish extends Goodyear Wingfoot Award lead at Snetterton

Dan Cammish continued his impressive qualifying form in this year’s BTCC campaign by securing his second pole position of the year with a superb lap at Snetterton a fortnight ago. The NAPA Racing UK driver duly claimed his second Goodyear Wingfoot Award of the season, further extending his lead in the season-long standings from three to six points.

The Goodyear Wingfoot Award recognises the fastest qualifier at each round. Drivers earn points based on their qualifying performances throughout the season, with the highest total securing the 2025 Goodyear Wingfoot Award title.

Speaking to Goodyear, Cammish expressed his ambition to claim the Goodyear Wingfoot Award this season and offered his thoughts ahead of the upcoming race weekend at Thruxton: “I’d like to think this could be my year. I really enjoy qualifying; it’s something I’ve always been strong at. I came so close [to winning the Wingfoot Award] in 2020 and missed out by just a point or two after losing pole at a wet Croft.

“Thruxton, without question, puts the most demand on tyres of all tracks. The tarmac is incredibly coarse and abrasive; in some places, it’s no better than your local roads. It’s the fastest circuit in the country, and the high-speed kerbs add even more stress to the tyres.

“We run the hard compound exclusively at Thruxton for that reason, and Goodyear provides us with a tyre that can handle the challenge. We also set the car up specifically to protect the tyre. If you don’t, you might be quick in the early laps, but you’ll be wishing the race was over far sooner than it is. Getting that balance right is absolutely crucial.”

Cammish now holds a six-point advantage over Team VERTU’s Tom Ingram at the top of the Goodyear Wingfoot Award leaderboard, while his NAPA Racing UK teammates, Ash Sutton and Dan Rowbottom, are level on 30 points in joint third place.

Track action at Thruxton kicks off on Saturday 7 June, ahead of the three races on Sunday 8 June.

Fast and Furious Thruxton awaits

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship blasts into Hampshire this weekend (7/8 June) as the cars and stars of the UK’s most competitive series take on the fast and furious Thruxton Circuit.

After nine incredible races so far, the charge for the 2025 title is beginning to take shape, but arguably more poignant has been the much-envied competitiveness and unpredictability that the BTCC has to offer.

Despite four-time champion Ash Sutton taking a dynamic double triumph at the Donington Park season opener, the BTCC is now on a run of eight different race winners from the most recent eight races – an incredible statistic that has included no fewer than three new race winners at the highest level of touring car racing.

Tom Chilton (Team Vertu), Jake Hill (Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport), Daryl DeLeon (WSR), Charles Rainford (LKQ Euro Car Parts Racing with WSR), Dan Cammish (NAPA Racing UK), Dan Rowbottom (NAPA Racing UK) and Mikey Doble (Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing) have all joined Sutton in the 2025 BTCC winners’ circle, but it is the NAPA Racing UK star that holds a slender advantage in the overall Drivers’ standings.

Surprisingly, Tom Ingram is yet to triumph in 2025 but his fantastic six podiums from the opening nine races place him just behind Sutton, with a first win of the campaign surely just around the corner for the 2022 champion.

Reigning supremo Hill lost ground after a challenging Snetterton last month, whilst Rowbottom and Cammish surged into fourth and fifth respectively with a victory apiece, whilst Team Vertu’s Adam Morgan completes the current top six in the standings. Lancastrian Morgan is another driver chasing a first win of 2025, but his return to front-wheel machinery and subsequent return to form, has been one of the standout stories of the season so far.

All this information, and not one mention so far of the man that has his own throne at Thruxton… read on to read all about Josh Cook’s incredible synergy with the breathless 2.36-mile layout, as well as the vital ticket and timetable information for the weekend ahead.

Thruxton, Honda and Cook - The Perfect Match?

Bath-based driver Cook regards Thruxton as his home circuit, and his results at the venue only fuel that homely feeling, but those emotions and hopes will be heightened even further this weekend as he returns with the Honda Civic Type R.

Half of Cook’s 20 BTCC victories so far have come at the quickest 2.36-miles of Tarmac in the UK, whilst Honda itself boasted an incredible résumé in Hampshire prior to a sabbatical for the marque in 2024.

Now reunited with the Japanese hot hatchback at One Motorsport, the 33-year-old will be targeting an 11th success in front of his home crowd as he also looks to kickstart his 2025 championship challenge.

A podium last time out Snetterton has buoyed the mood, but a win or two at Thruxton could throw Cook right back into contention.

“It has been great being back with the team at One Motorsport and to be driving the Honda Civic Type R again,” said Cook.

“I love Thruxton. It’s my local track; I’ve always had a great relationship with the place and the circuit obviously suits my style. It’s a full-on ballsy lap and I hope that plays in our favour this weekend as we target more silverware.”

Status quo as Sutton holds off Ingram in second bout

Ash Sutton made it two out of two with victory in Round 2 of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park, as the NAPA Racing UK star held off Team Vertu's Tom Ingram.

The leading duo played the same game in the earlier curtain raiser and they were initially joined by a gaggle of contenders in the second encounter.

It was Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport's Jake Hill leading a train of cars for third place in the early running as the soft-shod Goodyear runner held firm in the #1 BMW.

Ingram's best opportunity seemed to come in the opening exchanges but Sutton defended valiantly while saving what little boost he had available, by virtue of his earlier race victory.

Hill began to fade as the hard-charging Dan Cammish was busy making his way through the pack from eighth on the grid, whilst One Motorsport's Josh Cook's initial surge was scuppered by a puncture. The switch came on the penultimate lap as Cammish's #27 Ford Focus scythed his way by at Coppice.

Sutton saved his boost until the final lap as he impressively set his fastest lap on his final tour, as the four-time champ claimed another triumph ahead of Ingram.

Cammish completed the podium ahead of Hill, whilst Dan Rowbottom and Tom Chilton completed the top six. Chilton was further rewarded post-race as he grabbed pole position in the reverse draw for today's final contest.

LKQ Euro Car Parts Racing with WSR's Aiden Moffat drove well to grab seventh, whilst Restart Racing's Chris Smiley claimed Independents success with a barn-storming three-wide move through the Craner Curves.

Dexter Patterson produced an eye-catching ninth in his ROKiT Racing with Un-Limited Motorsport Cupra, whilst Adam Morgan wowed the crowds with a charge from 24th to tenth.

The final race commences at 1725 and will be screened LIVE in the UK on ITV4, LIVE in North America via the RACER+ App and LIVE across the rest of the world via the BTCC YouTube channel.

Cook fully focused on ‘fighting for the championship’

The 20-time BTCC race winner Josh Cook has not publicly announced where the #66 will be driving in 2025, but the Bath-born racer has stated that a deal is in place for not only the coming season, but also for seasons to come.

"Plans are in place," Cook told the BTCC Media Team. "We have got it all sorted but we will be announcing in due course. I'm very excited for something that's got great legs not only for 25, but beyond that.

"I'm really excited to work with the group of people that are involved in it. So, that's all I can really say for now, but I'm very excited to say that I am sorted."

The goal is clear for Cook in his next endeavour, to win the championship. In 2021, the then Honda Civic Type-R driver finished a career best third in the standings. Since that year, close but not close enough has been the result.

The following years would see a fall in finishing position with sixth in 2022 and fifth in 2023, before the switch to the Toyota Corolla GR Sport last season returned another sixth-place finish overall. Now, the only goal is outright victory.

"I want to win the championship by any means possible. We need to win that title. I've needed a bit of a reset, I think. Certainly, last year, the latter part of the year was much better, we were very competitive.

"But there's something that we're probably lacking somewhere along the line, and I can't rule out that obviously I haven't played my part in all of that. It's not just the car. It's not just the team. It's the driver as well.

"So, I’ve spent the last few months really working on myself, make sure that I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. Mentally I'm in a really good place, working hard with the team to make sure that we've got everything we need. Getting plans in place to make sure that we execute something that's really good for 2025, but more importantly 2026 and onwards.

"I'm excited, I feel rejuvenated. Last year was a good season but it was not enough. We want to be winning more races; we want to be fighting for the championship. I'm pleased, raring to get going, I want to get back in a racing car as soon as I can."

Patterson ready to 'push forward' after 2024 sabbatical

Returning to the BTCC for the upcoming season, the young Scot will also reunite with a car he last drove in 2023. The Glaswegian took his best result in the BTCC driving the CUPRA at his home event of Knockhill before his 2024 sabbatical.

"It's nice to come back," said Patterson. "I spent a year out and it's definitely a good opportunity to get back on the grid and see what we can do. [Signing the contract] Only really got finalised last weekend, pretty recent, but it's been in the pipeline for a little while.

“I've got a bit of experience in the CUPRA. It'll be a little bit different this time round with some changes and some updates so hopefully that'll be good.

"I've only driven one day at Donington at the end of the year, just to get my eye back into front-wheel drive because I've been in a rear-wheel drive all year. Getting back in it's a little bit alien for three laps and by then eventually you get used to it.

"We've got the TOCA days so there's a couple testing days there. Then hopefully try to get a couple in before that, just to get back in and get settled with the car, and run through setups, and what my preference is when I am in the car.

"The hybrid is all that I knew because I came in during the first year of the cycle. I'm excited to see what it'll be like, but just need to wait and see until I'm in the car and driving it, and then I'll get a proper judge of it.

"Now that I've had two seasons and I know what the championship's about, I can just sort of push forward and do what I want to do. But ideally, it's just to try and get the maximum out of the car and to try and get some podiums during the season and whatever comes with it.

"I just met him [Max Hall, team-mate] this morning so everything's a little bit new. A lot of the boys that I'll be working with this year I worked with previously so it'll be nice to work with some familiar faces, whilst with some new people as well."

BTCC introduces 100% sustainable fuel as hybrid departs

TOCA UPDATES 2025 REGULATIONS

Series Organiser of the British Touring Car Championship – TOCA – has today (31 October) announced some of its latest rules and regulations with the introduction of 100% sustainable fuel headlining developments for 2025, whilst the use of hybrid power has been discontinued.

The BTCC becomes the first championship in the UK to adopt fully sustainable fossil-free fuel for all its cars, once again underlining its position at the forefront of national motorsport innovation and industry-leading standards.

All aspects of the fuel’s BTCC test and development programme have been completed successfully, and following a full assessment and consultation the decision has been made to introduce the 100% sustainable fuel for every car from next season, while the hybrid programme will come to an end.

The BTCC became the first touring car series in the world to confirm the use of hybrid power way back in 2018, before being officially launched for the 2022 season.

Thanks to all teams, stakeholders and partners – with particular credit going to the hybrid system provider Cosworth Electronics – the hybrid programme has been successfully completed with this year’s title race proving to be one of the closest and hardest-fought in the championship’s history.

From 2025, cars will have the same power-boost output as in 2024 – and the same boost deployment format as previously used – with the additional power surge coming solely via turbo boost. The cars will also be some 55 kilogrammes lighter and nimbler as a result.

Cosworth remains an embedded partner of the BTCC with all cars running the Cosworth Electronics suite, whilst the company will continue to manage the turbo boost deployment system in its new guise.

A further tweak will see all notifications of the turbo boost deployment being removed from the timing screens, as it was felt this gave teams/drivers immediate information to try to counteract its use by other drivers.

Information on the boost deployment will still be available to fans via the LED lights on the side windows of each car, as well as on ITV’s live television graphics (albeit with the usual few seconds delay of a live television transmission), but the instantaneous information via the timing screens will no longer be available to the teams.

These cumulative changes headlined by the introduction of 100% sustainable fuel ensure that the BTCC maintains the same high levels of competitiveness, performance and excitement, but with the added advantage of its cars being lighter and more dynamic from 2025.

The new fuel – designated Hiperflo ECO102 R100 – is specifically engineered to maximise performance, compatibility, and sustainability. The fuel is 100% fossil-free, meaning all components are derived from synthetic and biological (i.e. non-crude) sources. Hiperflo ECO102 R100 conforms to the highest FIA and ISCC compliances.

Other rule tweaks have been ratified by TOCA ahead of the 2025 BTCC season, with information on these regulation changes to be released in the coming few days.

Alan Gow, BTCC Chief Executive, said: “The introduction of 100% fossil free sustainable fuel for 2025 shows that the BTCC remains committed to innovation in motorsport. As the highest profile championship in the UK, this introduction is a significant and essential step in maintaining the competitiveness and excitement synonymous with the BTCC, but in a more sustainable and forward-thinking way.

“The hybrid era was a great one for the BTCC. Six years ago, when we first announced hybrid, it was a technology still in its relative infancy within motorsport. We’ve successfully completed that programme – and really have no more to prove in that respect – whilst others have yet to catch up.

“But, as we’ve now ticked that box we can move further forward with the introduction of the fossil-free sustainable fuel, whilst very importantly delivering the same performance parameters that made this year’s BTCC such a memorable one.

“We don’t just sit still with the BTCC – we evolve, and we advance, as today’s announcement firmly underlines.”

Sustainable fuel performance proves hugely successful

BTCC MOVES CLOSER TO 100% SUSTAINABLE FUEL FOLLOWING SILVERSTONE RESULTS

The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship moves ever nearer to a sustainable fuel future after running an extensive trial in a fully competitive environment at Silverstone last weekend (21/22 September).

The BTCC has been working closely with long-term partners – Haltermann Carless – on this ground-breaking project, as part of its overall target for all cars entered into the championship to run 100% sustainable fuel.

Last weekend marked the next milestone of this development when it was agreed that the #18 Duckhams Racing with Un-Limited Motorsport car of Daryl DeLeon would run the latest 100% sustainable fuel for the full duration of the race weekend, with full support provided by Haltermann Carless, TOCA engine supplier M-Sport and Aero Tec Laboratories Ltd (ATL).

DeLeon contested every session with absolutely no fuel issues reported, and critically the pace and performance results were recorded to be equal of those cars running the regular controlled championship fuel.

The #18 Cupra of DeLeon was 13th in Free Practice, lined-up on the grid in the same position, and concluded race day with another 13th place finish. DeLeon and the rookie BTCC squad have only bettered that position on four previous occasions with this result being their 11th overall points finish during an impressive maiden campaign.

Now for the more technical part… Hiperflo ECO102 R100 is a fully sustainable fuel, which meets FIA criteria as an advanced sustainable fuel.

The fuel is a pure drop-in solution, it requires no hardware modifications to existing engines and crucially delivers no loss in performance compared to the current control fuel used in the championship. The weekend programme proved a huge success, with DeLeon completing all sessions, covering a total of 319km.

The fuel itself achieves a greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction of approximately 55% on a well-to-wheel (WtW) basis compared to the fossil fuel baseline. If the full BTCC grid adopted this fully sustainable fuel for the entire season, it would result in a CO2 reduction of approximately 50,000 kg, equivalent to the combined weight of around 37 BTCC cars.

Series Organiser – TOCA – will continue to work closely alongside Haltermann Carless over the coming weeks and months with the plan to move fully to a 100% sustainable fuel as the championship’s chosen controlled fuel. The DeLeon car is expected to continue running the fuel at the Brands Hatch season finale next weekend (5/6 October).

Haltermann Carless is at the forefront of performance and innovation in motorsport and is celebrating three decades of partnership with the BTCC. Recently, the company was awarded with the highest level of environmental sustainability recognition from the FIA – the FIA 3-star rating.

Alan Gow, BTCC Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted with the significant progress we have made with regard to 100% sustainable fuel – working closely alongside Haltermann Carless and our teams – with last weekend’s results representing a significant milestone in the project.

“The development work doesn’t stop here, however, as we actively strive to even further improve the efficiency and performance of the sustainable fuel going forward.

“This is an important and essential step for the BTCC as we continue to look to maintain the competitiveness and excitement synonymous with our championship, but in a more sustainable way.”

Adrian Stuart, Haltermann Carless Head of Performance Fuels Sales UK, said: “In recent years, the focus in motorsport has shifted toward sustainable fuels, a challenge we have embraced with the same dedication that has fuelled our success with the BTCC over the past 30 years.

“At Silverstone we were able to showcase a fully sustainable fuel during a championship weekend and we would like to thank to Daryl DeLeon and Duckhams Racing for supporting this trial. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with the BTCC and engine partners to bring even more sustainable, high-performance fuels to the racetrack in the future.

“This is a significant development and enforces our commitment to driving low-carbon solutions through our motorsport brands, Carless Racing Fuels and ETS Racing Fuels. More breakthroughs are on the horizon as we continue to innovate and refine our fuel formulations.”

BTCC to further raise sustainability awareness at Silverstone

Organisers of the British Touring Car Championship – TOCA – will be further raising sustainability awareness at its penultimate event of the season at Silverstone this coming weekend (21/22 September).

The UK’s premier motorsport championship released its ‘Sustainability Strategy’ earlier this year, outlining its ongoing ambition for the BTCC to become a global leader in sustainable improvements and carbon neutrality for national level motor racing.

While the BTCC has always championed its sustainability goals and actions, 2024 marked the formalisation of this strategy, and whilst the majority of topics maintain a 24/7 approach, the championship will highlight some of those ambitions this weekend.

A number of ITV features, social media posts, radio interviews and written articles will be published during this weekend’s event, as the BTCC demonstrates its approach towards a more sustainable future, dovetailed alongside the greatest wheel-to-wheel motorsport in the UK.

Some of the aspects to receive focus at Silverstone will be the testing of 100% sustainable fuel (see story in coming days), recycling of major components, preparation of a travel planning and mileage log, the launch of a BTCC sustainability award and many more.

Also, earlier this year the BTCC introduced a full recycling system into its TOCA Race Centre, in which the championship has since recorded an average of 95-97% of all waste having been recycled, the remainder of which is used for waste-to-energy purposes – all resulting in zero waste being sent to landfill. This will continue to be analysed at Silverstone and beyond.

TOCA will also be working closely alongside its loyal partners, such as Kwik Fit and Goodyear, with both looking to execute their own sustainability goals through a number of cutting edge and forward-thinking activations.

The BTCC aims to achieve its sustainability ambitions by developing and executing the policies and practices outlined in its strategy, striving for carbon neutrality even where reductions in emissions are minimal due to the nature of our sport.

Implementation of the strategy, through measured and achievable actions with realistic time frames, will be continually assessed with success criteria and key performance indicators to improve environmental impacts across 6 central pillars: Cars, Circuits, Suppliers and Partners, Teams, Central Functions and Fans. You can read the full ‘Sustainability Strategy’ here.

Alan Gow, BTCC Chief Executive, said: “Whilst the BTCC’s ‘Sustainability Strategy’ is ongoing and is something that we work on every single day, we believe that raising awareness of these ambitions during a race weekend is a great way to further inform and support our incredible fanbase.

There are many ways in which we can all improve and get involved, looking at our own individual and collective approach to making the world a more sustainable environment.”
